My first time on shooting from this side of Science World. Now that the Olympic Village is open, I will definitely come back.

Here in the north, we now have a season where both spring and summer alternate. It's been summer for the last few days, so warm, so beautiful. The colors of nature are gentle and soft. And when I look at the surface of the lake, another world opens up.
👱♀️🎧 Another Green World ( Brian Eno ).
In 2017 I was looking to move my life in a different direction. I contacted Royce Bair and booked a private workshop with him. I wanted to learn astro photography and I have always believed you should get the best to learn from. This is my very first "Nightscape" I have reprocessed with all I have learned in the past four and half years.
It was snowing couple of times this year, but barely saw it at Niagara Falls (melting). I remember the icing world of Niagara Falls year ago… Searched my archived photos, just by watching these photos, I could feel the icing cold, remembered my hands numbed, eyelashes iced together, camera died due to -28C, could not touch tripod… 😉 It was very cold that year, even the water sprays were frozen in the air... Most of the Niagara Falls were frozen except horseshoe falls which flew forever. The Niagara river was covered with the thick ice, but the power flow from the horseshoe falls was still on… it never stops!
It was sunrise, but the sun was blocked behind the clouds, very light morning colors. On the right corner, you can see the observing platform which was covered with icing… the photo of this platform is here 😊

Unfortunately I had a problem with flickr and with this post. So I have to repost my shots from yesterday and today. I hope You don’t mind.
When I stood in the forest swamp near Grossdittmannsdorf I felt like I had walked far back in time. As the rising sun was shining through the morning mist I could surmise like the world could have looked like many thousand years ego. I expected a T-Rex ore a Veliceraptor emerging between the trees any moment. A really surreal moment. Afterwards I'm glad, that non of them was approaching. Only a pair of grey herons felt annoyed by me and came across insulting very loud.
Als ich an diesem Morgen im Waldmoor bei Grossdittmannsdorf stand fühlte ich mich, als wäre ich in der Zeit weit zurück gewandert. Als die aufgehende Sonne durch den Morgendunst schien konnte ich erahnen, wie die Welt vor vielen tausend Jahren ausgesehen haben könnte. Jeden Moment erwartete ich, dass ein T-Rex oder ein Velociraptor zwischen den Bäumen auftaucht. Ein surrealer Moment. Im Nachinein bin ich jedoch sehr froh, dass keiner von beiden gekommen ist. Lediglich ein Pärchen Graureiher fühle sich von mir belastigt und kam sich lautstark beschwerend vorbei.

This African elephant was discovered in the Samburu region of Kenya. As you can see from the image its habitat is changing rapidly from an area that was once quite lush to an area that is now quickly becoming a desert as a result of a lengthy and ongoing drought. The climate crisis is happening now and is already having devastating impacts on the planet.

World's End, North Wales......I'm not too sure if it really is the logistical end of the world but after a hectic day with 'H' and big brother too down in London the peace and tranquility of the the pink lonely moors was a welcome destination for me!

I guess it's World Elephant Day today. Didn't know until I saw a couple posts about it so I had to bring this back.
This is from some time ago but I decided to put it up again to honor elephants. They have to be one of my favorite animals.
This is me actually getting hugged by an elephant. Her name is Susie. Can you feel the joy? I was on the verge of joyful laughing.
