I am just back from a visit of a few amazing days with a new friend in Woodstock, Vermont, USA. This is the view from her back deck on the early evening of June 13, 2023. It had been raining most of the day. Suddenly, I looked up from the dinner table to behold this lovely sight & I exclaimed, "Rainbow!"

Summer 2019 I did a solo cycling tour across Europe through 12 countries over the course of 3 months. I began my adventure in Edinburgh, Scotland and finished in Florence, Italy cycling 8,816 km. During my trip I took 47,000 photos.

The Oxfordshire Museum
A regional museum covering the county of Oxfordshire.
The museum features collections of local history, art, archaeology, the landscape and wildlife relating both to the county of Oxfordshire and to the town of Woodstock.
The museum is run by Oxfordshire County Council and is located in a large historic house.
Lead Coffin and Skeleton, from Abingdon (Late Roman)
The skeleton had its head placed at its feet. This custom was quite common in Roman Britain, and may have been thought to help free the spirit from the body at death.
Seven coins were in the skeleton's mouth, to pay the ferryman to the underworld.

Villa Woodstock, Wuppertal, Germany. Abandoned nursing home.
The former terminus station at Blenheim & Woodstock, seen from the south-eastern, New Road side on 6th July 2005.
It was a relatively early casualty, closing to both passenger and freight traffic, along with the four mile branch line in 1954.
At the time this photograph was taken, the building was serving as a garage and convenience store. The area was later turned over to new housing, but the vast majority of the building was incorporated in the subsequent development.
Note the cast iron pole in the foreground which is a stink pipe rather than a lamp post.

The big lawn - this is where it happened. I felt like making the image colorful, 60ies, flower power before the flowers are actually out. The stage spot is on the left.

This was taken in 2019 in Hallowell, Maine where a 50 year commemoration celebration of Woodstock was held. Lots of fun. I had forgotten about this photo that was such a fitting part of the fun. I believe one of the faces is of Jerry Garcia but not sure about the others.
