My family and I went to the original site of Woodstock. The grounds were beautiful!

We walked around the museum and then enjoyed the Parachute & Goo Goo Dolls concert.

A beautiful statue of a lady (without hat) in the house "Woodstock" in Co. Kilkenny!

Thanks to Seuss. who tells us that the Sculpture is of Mary Blachford Tighe (1772-1810) as sculpted by Lorenzo Bartolini ca. 1820.

Mary Tighe was an accomplished poet and her poem Psyche was admired by many and praised by Thomas Moore in his poem, "To Mrs. Henry Tighe on reading her Psyche" See Wikipedia Mary Tighe

sharon.corbet Tells us that the the subject matter of the photo was destroyed in a disastrous fire on July 2nd 1922 see The Irish Aesthete

............ the family spent less time at Woodstock and once the War of Independence broke out the Tighes brought the house’s more valuable furniture and pictures to England. It proved a judicious move since the building was occupied first by members of the hated Black and Tans and then by the Free State Army. The latter left Woodstock on July 1st 1922 and the following day it was set alight, most probably by anti-Treaty forces. All the remaining contents, including the library and Bartolini’s statue of Mary Tighe, were destroyed in the blaze. It was, like so many similar occurrences of the period, an entirely gratuitous act of vandalism that did nothing other than rob Ireland of another part of her cultural heritage.

Finally, the well traveled Sharon shares with us "I have just returned from Florence. The plaster orginial of Lorenzo’s statue of Mary Tighe is in the museo de l’academica there"

I took this shot in Woodstock, Vermont. It´s a beautiful little town and the "Woodstock Village Historic District" was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It includes the village center and additional properties along the Ottauquechee River. This is their local sports shop on Mainstreet. It's a panorama made of 4 shots. Woodstock Police and Fire/Rescue responded to Route 14 in the area between Dean St. and Kishwaukee Valley Rd. for the report of a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival crews found a fully engulfed vehicle on the side of the road. The fire was put out, but traffic in both directions was shut down for about 45 minutes. Nobody was injured in the fire but the vehicle was a total loss.

Two visual time travelers share a Woodstock Festival moment in the woods.

The image on the left, taken in August 2017, was created using a mural of a photograph from the 1969 Woodstock Festival. This mural is located outside the museum at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts which is on the site of Max Yasgur’s farm where the 1969 festival was held.

The image on the right, taken in August 2019 – the 50th anniversary of the festival, was taken in the recently developed trails in the actual woods where the image of the mural was captured. This path was rediscovered and landscaped in its original 1969 location after careful study of maps, drawings and archeological evidence.
