I was resting in the forest

with my back against a tree

when the tree began to whisper

"Listen, please to me."

I'm sure you think we stand here

unaware of life around,

but let me set you straight on this...

Life's secrets we have found.

We've watched the seasons come and go,

seen dark turn into light;

we've been warmed by days of sunshine

then cooled by evening night.

We've stood here as the hands of time

have circled round and round.

The young new leaves come out in spring,

in fall they drift to ground.

We've watched as children climb each branch,

reaching high towards the sky,

the birds have nestled in our limbs,

where their young have learned to fly.

We've watched young lovers stroll along,

then kiss beneath our shade,

their love remains among us,

even when their shadows fade.

We've watched the aged slowly stroll,

giving thanks for all we've done.

They know that we'll remain here

long after they have gone.

We've learned of patience as we've stood here,

and we wish we could impart

the wisdom that we now possess.

Observations from the heart.

Each day for us brings something new,

whether rain or sun prevails.

I could talk for hours

and tell a thousand tales.

But in silence we continue

to stand here and observe.

Patience is our virtue,

we're simply here to serve.

Look what arrived in the mail yesterday!! I usually open b'day gifts as they arrive, and, yes, I did open "The Couch Book". My rules are different for Xmas, when I make myself wait till the Eve or Day. Let's face it - at a certain age, one doesn't get the pile of loot one used to get as a child...but yesterday's score looked so impressive I've decided hold off until the actual day - or at least until I have someone else here to witness the love - to crack this stuff open. I think it's showing a sign of wisdom and maturity that is usually lacking in my decisions.

Left hand in right, symbolising wisdom in compassion

Long curly hair, bright eyes, red lips and a funny accent. A big heart, a warm hug and an amazing smile. That girl showed to me a new way to see the world, she told me words that i will never forget, she wrote me some quotes that i had never listened.

We first met at a bus station, a quickly "Hi" and nothing else.

"I will never see her again" I thought,

but I was wrong, a few days later she came to me holding a green bottle of beer and sat by my side, in the meantime I was listening music. We became friends so fast and day after day I was impressed how smart she was. It is better to say, how smart she is and how much wisdom she has.

This is from a late 1960s or early 1970s Peanuts calendar by Charles Schultz. It was my favorite page from the calendar, re-discovered in a box of late teen treasures.

Seems like a good thing to share in the days of the 2020 Covid-19 self isolation.

Wisdom/Mudrost...

Lee Lawrie's carved limestone relief representing Wisdom inspired by William Blake's famous painting of Jehovah.

“Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does - except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place.”

A retired couple i met yesterday on a short walk at the lake. The lady asked me to take a picture with her cellphone to show her daughter, because she didn't had a clue how to deal with complicated technology she said.

So i offered them a shot with my own cam and edited it with these parameters :

- decreased saturation with the percentage set to their average age

- black circled vignette, with feather set to the same parameter value

After a short chat with them, i could conclude their wisdom was not hiding somewhere in their cellphone but within their hearts. It was nice meeting them!

During the time that I had to study, I decided to go for the AZ waterways pearl. During this time I used paper and pencil to create a study guide. I split Arizona into thirds, so it would be easy for me to remember. After I finished, I cut out paper to cover the answers and to practice.

True wisdom is knowing enough to know that you do not know.
