Letter to the Editor:
Old habits are hard to get rid of
I was shocked and some what distraught, after I decided to experience the reading of HJW III editorial concerning the Columbia Police Citizen Oversight Board.
I must admit it’s a good start, because it can mirror our judicial system, which has the ultimate authority and methodology to stop abuse of authority, pertaining to our public officials and officers.
A well crafted over sight process that excludes any citizen, based on belief and or opinion, rather than facts and truths , suggest fixed development and stagnation.
An age old historical pattern and practice of the non progressive majority to exclude and or discriminate, through political propaganda, to keep disenfranchised people out of the full spectrum of our political process.
However, I have no confidence in three of the appointed members, Elbert, Smith and Williams, based on factual reasons and my experiences. Can all three effectually execute the process without conflict of interest? No! Have they attempted to resolve any of my many complaints, beginning in 2002 to the present? No! Should we allow proxy negotiations? No!
Dr. King warned of and had to overcome this very similar event and or experience of classism, when he wished to share himself with others, while in the Birmingham jail.
The main goals of any group effort to correct injustice and the abuse of authority, must contain those who are directly affected and those who have filed complaints, alleging police misconduct. Another key element is it must contain those who have filed criminal and civil appeals, that have been denied by the higher courts, to affirm the obstruction of justice. Boone County Justice System performs legalized lynching, by applying suppression of exculpatory evidence, from most juries as a key element for consideration of innocence, while using theories and some science coupled with their beliefs and opinions to obtain convictions.
Its kind of sad that Hank and Mayor Hindman haven’t progressed in extending and perpetuating opportunities equally for all, as the rest of the progressive majority has endeavored to do so. Thanks to radical journalist we have freedom of the press! Thanks to the progressive majority for allowing me to exercise my freedom of speech. For some old habits aren’t hard to overcome.
Respectfully,
Marlon L. Jordan

A what-is-it shot. It's a mineral crystal, but which mineral? Hint: I needed to get this fast.

No one has ever tried to guess this, so I'll give it up: it's ice crystals formed on the rim of a half-gallon container of blackberry ice cream that's sat in the freezer a little too long. =D I made the picture hand-held in the kitchen sink by the light of the window above it.
It's season to enjoy the beauty of the different roses species from all over the world at Taipei. I took these gorgeous rose blossoms at the rose garden of Hsin Sheng park at Taipei on Feb, 22, 2015. Hope you enjoy & have a nice day.

Hopetoun House is the traditional residence of the Earl of Hopetoun (later the Marquess of Linlithgow). Located near South Queensferry to the west of Edinburgh, Scotland, it was built 1699-1701 and designed by William Bruce. The House was then hugely extended from 1721 by William Adam until his death in 1748 being one of his most notable projects. The interior was completed by his sons John Adam and Robert Adam. The magnificent entrance hall dates from 1752.

I call this her "Betty Grable" pose. If you're too young to know who she was, do a Google search for Betty Grable World War II photo.
The modern Olde English Bulldogge is a reconstruction of the original Olde Bulldogge of the 17th and 18th century.
The result has been a good looking Bulldogge of great athletic ability that is much healthier and physically fit without most or all of the problems that plague today's modern English Bulldogs.
One thing they didn't breed out was the stubborness.

What's the best part of Lava lamps? the blurpy moving shapes, of course. I'm trying to channel that energy here by filling puff sleeves and a hem puff with helium--but not very full. In my imagination, the half-full helium sacs will blurp around like half-full water balloons--or Lava Lamps.
I like the idea of half-inflated clothing so much, I actually want to try it. I'll definitely post photos if I get it to work.
What's the matter? Physicists tell us, nothing much. Despite the appearance to the eye of the gross anatomist that our bodies are solid, even "vacuum packed," our forms are mostly space. For my part, I believe that space is not empty at all, but full. We fill it with our intentions, our thoughts, our feelings, which course through us and pour from us in incessant waves. How we fill space matters to us very much. Fill it kindly when you can.

On a side note :
Today I left work at 3 due to over time accured. I stopped by the Super K Mart on the way home because the Gulls were in the parking lot. I got some ok shots of the ones there. I also stopped at Walmart and there was a flock there too. I bought a bag of hot dog buns and fed them when I went out. That was alot of fun and they seemed so thankful. I did'nt stay to feed the ones in Charlotte, not exactly a safe place to be alone.
I also have photos of a Song Sparrow from work that was fighting himself in the rear view mirror of several cars.
I stopped by the CVS to burn my photos on a disc but their machine was down. Will go out tomorrow some where else to get my photos off my card, I'm really excited to see how they turned out.
Sorry to type so much here, I'm just thirlled after MONTHS of trying to get photos of the gulls.
They were Ring Billed Gulls.
