A scenic spot along the West Okement river, part of a lovely circular hike in north Dartmoor. The only issue here was the crazy amount of midges eating us alive while we tried to enjoy the view and take some photos! Made me feel like sitting in the Scottish Highlands!!

Far west - Sunset at Neist Point, looking out across the Minch.
The narrow, rocky finger that is home to Neist Point lighthouse, is the furthest west you can travel in mainland UK without having to board a ferry. A location that’s hard to beat as one of the best places in the UK to witness sunset, especially so when decent conditions prevail as I was lucky enough to experience.

After roughly an hour’s delay at Hellifield, due to a points failure, A1SLT’s new build Peppercorn designed 'A1' 4-6-2 no.60163 ‘Tornado’ makes up time as she heads through Helwith Bridge, with the Bradford Forster Square to Carlisle ‘West Yorkshireman’ tour organised by Settle & Carlisle Railway Development Company. 'Tornado' only came on at Hellifield.
I love the mailboxes we see in West Virginia! This one was on a one track gravel road. I wish I had one like this! :) So unique and I guarantee you won't find one in the big box stores! LOL Happy Sabbath to all and a blessed weekend.
Zürich West (German: Zürich-West) is an area in the Industriequartier, located in the west of Zürich. It is a former industrial site, stretching between the track leading away from Zürich Hauptbahnhof and the Limmat, and experiencing a gradual conversion into a new quarter, including offices, apartments and arts venues.
I'm standing on the I40 spur bridge west of Winslow at what is truly one of the most iconic photo locations in all of western railroading. But the shot you will instantly recognize is the view looking to the west. But this is the view looking east on modern day BNSF's Seligman Sub near MP 287.9 on the former Atchison & Topeka Santa Fe Railway mainline. Just another in the near constant parade of intermodal trains is accelerating through the interlocking at West Winslow after they pull away from their crew change destined for a sprint across the desert on the famed Transcon 290 miles to the end of their run just across the Colorado River into California at Needles.

C506, G513, C509 and C510 head further west to the GrainFlow at West Wyalong as 3345.
This train operated as 4343 from Newcastle to West Wyalong, where it was then split into two rakes and loaded at the GrainFlow facility north of West Wyalong. Once the two rakes were loaded, they combined as 3444 back to Newcastle.

Amtrak Train No. 5, the westbound California Zephyr passes over Colorado State Route 72, the highway entrance to Coal Creek Canyon, behind motors 142-815. This is mile 23 (from Denver) between the sidings of Eisele and Plain (Plainview) on Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision. I watched this beautiful sunset from the street along the port in Fajā Grande on the Island of Flores in The Azores. I have been across the street at the Restaurante Pappadiamandis. The restaurant was packed with many people like me hoping to eat while waiting on the sunset. The inside was full, but I found a place on the patio and was just about to order when a sudden rain squall disrupted my plans. The restaurant staff found room for most of us patio diners under awnings at the side of the restaurant. The only problem, I could no longer see the ocean or the potential sunset. A kind waiter found a corner for me to sit in, and even a place to put my camera tripod. As I was waiting for my order, he came up and told me the sunset was now beautiful. He held my place while I walked across the street and took this picture.Beautiful view followed by a wonderful meal at the restaurant.
Fajā Grande is the westernmost village in Portugal. The actual western most point in Portugal and Europe is the small uninhabited island of Monchique that protrudes from the Atlantic about 4 km north-northwest of Fajā Grande. This view was the furthest west I got on the Azores. Geologically, Flores actually lies on the North American tectonic plate, along with the neighboring Island of Corvo. They are separated from the rest of the Azores and Portugal by the Mid-Atlantic Ridge
Sunrise explodes over West Island during this last weekend on the South Coast. A very tricky weekend of shooting with rain, spray and winds blowing straight into me most of the time!!
The art deco Warner Theater was built in 1931. There are apparently plans to renovate and reopen it.

LIRR Train #58 for Patchogue splits the PRR-style position lights at West Islip, New York heading east on the Montauk Branch which extends along the south side of Long Island to Montauk, 115 miles east of New York City.

The West Point Lighthouse has been serving seafaring Islanders since May 21, 1876 and is the tallest lighthouse on PEI at just over 20m, the rock used for the foundation ballast had to be shipped into the area from Nova Scotia as there is a scarcity of accessible bedrock in this area. The last keeper Bernie MacIsaac spent 38 years maintaining the light and never missed a single night during the season but never lived here except in the evenings as he had 15 kids and a wife to look after a few miles down the road. After automation of the light a local group took over the upkeep and in 1984 turned the lighthouse into a museum, gift shop and a 3 room inn (later adding 7 more rooms) opened as Canada’s only Inn in a Lighthouse.
