She had been playing the "chasing game" with the male. She just had to ly down on the Maple limb and bite a piece of bark.
Beautiful outside....it's a Red spotted purple! The lavender came from a mass of flowers in the bokeh.
This week I went to the Taylor Wessing Portrait Photography Prize exhibition..... What a breathtaking range of portraits! (Ahem......the above ain't one of them, it's one of mine....)
A lot of the pix had been exquisitely processed. It may just have been amazing cameras and superb lighting, but I reckon there was a lot of Photoshop as well. Even if people had been photographed in the open - often the results had a studio quality about them. Anyway, the exhibition left me inspired and I tried really hard when I processed this one.
To share a couple of gems from the exhib.....
The first prize was a joy...

and I loved this one - it really was luminous and glowing. The photographer said the post processing took her over 6 months!

As the National Portrait Gallery is closed for refurbishment the Taylor Wessing Portrait exhibition is being held at the arts hub Cromwell Place.

I was hired by Wess Wess Blaqout Music Productions to shoot some promo pics for two of their up-and-coming hip-hop artists. They are local OC artists and about to hit the scene big time. I love working with young talent as they are always so energetic and they remind me of me when I first got started in the music business. Kamau is a talented rapper, this kid spits game like nobody's business, watch for him soon! This shot was his idea, he came to me and said he wanted to do shot that look hard and scary in a provocative way, I had to get him into character but I think we got the shot he wanted.
Enjoy,

while going around the Taylor-Wessing portrait competition, I forgot my diary, so had to take notes on the photographers I wanted to look up on the back of my hand. TIL that my handwriting is clearer on a hard paper surface.
Some of the portrait shots for a chance to be in the Taylor Wessing photographic Portrait Prize 2021 - Nikul is photographed standing outside the Royal London Hospital where he works as a Consultant Intensivist on the Adult Critical Care Unit.
He talk about his first year as a consultant which has seen him work through the most tumultuous period in our NHS history. Rather than dwell on the negatives he reflects and takes pride in the efforts of the those around him.
