Education doesn't stop at the classroom door. Through our asset-based community development program, we've seen parents embrace their talents and dive into supporting their child's education by building new classrooms, cooking school lunches, meeting with teachers, and so much more!

How does an educator teach a student to write without regular access to pen and paper? Well, the teachers at Mbandazi Primary in Rwanda have come up with a unique solution using clay and sand! They've taken the principles from Wellspring's training about locally-sourced and sustainable teaching aids and are combatting low literacy rates with great success! The Wellspring community is mourning the loss this week of a dear friend and partner in our work, Rob Rande. Rob was a true servant who, together with his wife Lorna, so willingly gave of his time and skills to bless Wellspring, both here in Canada and in Rwanda (where he is pictured with our 2014 Vision Trip team). Our condolences and prayers are with Rob's family at this time.
