August 10, 2007 Perry, NY. Our farmhouse, barn (white) and "other barn" (red), across the roadside flowers and a field. A very overcast day. The field was cut the next day, as I recall.

Wishing I would have used my other lens so Jason could have captured the whole choir, because oh they were so sweet! We had a blast singing together this season...those sweet little voices just melted my heart!

#MonMornMot: Reflections from @andyharrington's visit to #Burundi last week: "As I write this, our aircraft has just accelerated down the bumpy runway of Bujumbura airport, capital of Burundi, and lifted off into the night sky. We visited a school in Kibuye in the center of the country. It’s a place that #Wellspring hopes to start working in soon, training teachers in how to provide children with a quality and Christian values-based education that will give them opportunities that will change their lives forever. During my visit there, I was surrounded by children who ran into the rough dirt field that passes for a playground to meet us. We laughed and joked with them, took their pictures and watched them squeal with delight as they looked at their images on the screen. They didn’t have uniforms because they couldn’t afford them, they didn’t have text books because they weren’t available. And as for laptops and iPhones? Well that is an impossible dream. Yet they were wonderful human beings, loved by God, full of joy, laughter and the mischievous grins that every child we meet here seems to have. Just like any child anywhere in the world really. These kids could be any kid you see at home, it’s just that they happened to be born here, into this existence."

A miniature sculpt made from cast resin, polymer clay, screws, gears and other tidbits. Painted with acrylic and ink.
The top face, with the gears, was cast when the resin was just about at the end of it's pour time. I was able to take advantage of the quick cure and manually extend the piece beyond the simple one-part mold I cast the gears with.
About four inches tall.
