On the morning before traveling to Theth, the national park i had the opportunitity to shoot the beautiful mosque of Shkodra, with the Cathedral in the backdrop. The sky was pretty dull and therefore i used a single shot of the milky way from the same night and created this Vortex effect with them. Later on i blended all the shots together in order to create a very interesting sky
I used approximately 200 star trail shots to create this sky, and also 4 other shots to blend the foreground in photoshop... It took me almost 12 hours just to stitch the shots of the stars and i ended up having a file of 68 gb, and than the rest was a game of selection and creativity

Sharing an IR image of the rain vortex in Jewel Changi Airport, Singapore. At 40m is the world's tallest indoor waterfall.
It's been a while since I shot IR and I recently learned there's a very big issue in post processing IR with ACR or Lightroom CC 2019 as the custom WB set in the Adobe DNG Profile editor can no longer be saved as custom preset nowadays. Still lucky the WB can still be tweaked in Canon's DPP.

The famous Oneonta Gorge in Columbia River Gorge was blocked by tons of logs at the gate when I visited last month. But that doesn't stop a lot people since you can find a way climb over them. Interestingly I found a chance to shoot this vortex view, since the logs slowed and changed the waterflow, which is not seen in many pictures, pretty cool to me.

The infamous Vortex Tunnel on the first floor of Camera Obscura, an Aladdin's cave of optical illusions and a bevy of other tricks, puzzles, and experiences.
Trying to balance while walking through this spinning spiral of colour is no mean feat.
During one of my recent ventures out on the coast I spotted this little well, hole, vortex or whatever else of similar nature comes to mind. I was committed to making a composition with that feature in one way or another. I tried various angles and in the end I settled for this one.

I made it using a sequence of 276 photos I shot last September at Arches National Park in Utah, at the Park Avenue trailhead.

I believe the other photos (Particularly Lincoln Harrison who was my main inspiration) use a custom device to zoom in while making the exposure, but I did it in post processing with an old sequence of 130 photos I took at Garner State Park during the Eta Aquarids meteor shower in 2013.

Cela faisait déjà plusieurs jours que la canicule assommait l'Ardèche. Les nuages pointaient, se déformaient et mimaient des enclumes en leur sommet, signe que les orages seraient bientôt là . Ce fut chose faite cet après-midi. Sur le Coiron, en traversant un champs d'éoliennes, l'une d'elles présentait une allure singulière avec, en fond, un tourbillon de nuages menaçants.
L'image a été légèrement contrastée pour mieux discerner ce vortex atmosphérique. Il ne s'agit pas d'un montage.
