Through the Visualizing Complex Work demo, Intel Labs Europe is researching ways to apply interactive data visualizations to reveal important patterns and relationships, encourage data exploration and knowledge discovery, and support decision making for complex problems. The technology can combine visualization with an optimization algorithm to identify energy saving opportunities within a factory. Additional visualization examples explore complex process control data and investigating hardware performance of products.

Here you see a view looking in from the main entrance. On the far right you can see the curve of the sphere from the outside. It is made of dark semitransparent projection screen material over a metal superstructure. The blue part just inside of that on the right is a 3d visualization of a brain.
