Label reads:" GOLD MEDAL BURGUNDY Made from a blend of Shiraz and Grenache grapes grown in the hills south of Adelaide. Matured for 2 years in new oak, this wine has developed into a delicate round soft Burgundy. Awarded a Gold Medal in the royal Sydney Show 1969, Class 5, and a Silver Medal in Melbourne 1969, Class 960. A slight crust may develop in the bottle as the wine ages.

Label reads:" Estd. 1877 McWilliam's Mount Pleasant PHILIP HERMITAGE 1973 In the lower Hunter River Valley, in late December, 1972 and early January, 1973, extremely hot weather conditions were exprienced, and this has resulted in the 1973 Mount Pleasant red having a low acidity but with full flavour and tannin, and good colour. After ageing in 2700 litre and 13 600 litre oak casks, this wine was bottled in August-September, 1974 and should improve for many years.
