Over 70 class 317 EMU's are still in service throught the UK. They were built in two batches back in the early and mid 1980's. Refurbishment and upgrades over the years must point to the sucess of the original design I would think.

Southend United were losing at home to ten man Barnsley whilst I was taking this photograph. Final score was Southend 0-3 Barnsley.

Hopefully the paramedics had some headache tablets on hand for Southend manager Chris Powell.

BVV 947 displayed at the Festival of Steam and Transport 2019. Historic Dockyard Chatham, Kent.

The information sheet on the windscreen says that this is one of only 5 right hand drive MkV DHC's in the UK. Only 90 examples of the 365 Jaguar MkV DHC's made were right hand drive.

A very rare and beautiful car with the looks of the pre-war SS Jaguar models in its styling I would say.

Displayed at the Festival of Steam and Transport 2019. Historic Dockyard, Chatham, Kent.

The GTL face-lifted version of the Renault 4 was introduced in 1978 and had a useful 1108cc engine with a 4 speed gearbox. The original Renault 4 was designed in the late 1950's and launched in 1961 with a 747cc engine and a 3 speed gearbox. A short lived version with a 603cc engine called the Renault 3 was also launched in 1961.

Production of the Renault 4 continued to 1992

455 804 at London Bridge Station.

Southern took delivery of 46 four car sets of this class that were built between 1982 and 1984. The Class 455 as a whole were bulit from about 1980 through to 1985. Some sets incorporate carriages from earlier classes of emu.

Restoration of the bus that went round the world during 1967-69 has produced a very fine vehicle indeed.

The photo on the left is from 2013. I was very kindly allowed in to the Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society's workshop to take this photograph. On the right ONO 59 is at the very place where epic adventure started from in 1967. The Elms public house in Leigh-On-Sea, Essex. A return visit in August 2019.

HDR landscape of north-eastern edge of the Phewa Lake in Pokhara, Nepal.

Pokhara city is built around the eastern edge of the lake and is less than 30 kms from the Annapurna mountains. This makes Pokhara the preferred base for most adventure expeditions into those mountains.

At least the Arriva crew bus looks presentable. Not on my list of favourite places.

The very appealing Silver Rider livery on this short wheelbase Enviro 200 / Dart B28F photographed in the dull and oppressive bus station at Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

The Silver Rider I circular route was introduced in November 2018.

Lots of short wheelbase buses using Aylesbury Bus Station.

Nameplate outside the master-house at The Mirage - Andretta in Himachal.

It's easy to fall in love with the place, and its flavours; the tranquil wooded surrounds, artful ambience full of antiques and history, and excellent modern service and amenities.

☀️ Good vibes, good coffee, great views! ☕

Migrants walking on the Ludhiana-Delhi Highway (NH-44) near Ludhiana, Punjab, during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown.

Families of migrants had to walk on highways towards their faraway home states carrying on themselves what little meagre worldly possessions they had.

A special treat to be able to walk freely around 7 of the Douglas Dakota / C47/ C53 Skytrooper aircraft that will be part of the Daks Over Normandy 75th anniversary event on 5th/6/h June 2019.

They were at Old Warden Airfield for the Shuttleworth Collection's Flying Festival 2019.

On display in The Nave of Ely Cathedral. Part of a science related exhibition.

The Museum of the Moon is an internally lit globe covered with NASA imagery of the lunar surface.

Also just in view is the very detailed painted ceiling of The Nave.

Baya Weaver bird perched on a palm tree in a garden near Ludhiana, Punjab.

This is a male Baya Weaver in breeding plumage that gives it the bright yellow colours.

Grey bushchat female bird near Pong Lake in Himachal.

Grey bushchat is usually seen in pairs, and often around the edges of forested areas. This female was sighted while we were heading out from the Pong Lake Bird Sanctuary, and right after we had sighted a male perched nearby.

MXX 261 photographed at the Lakeside Shopping Centre Bus Station, Essex.

Ensignbus Vintage Running Day 2018.

Mainly built in 1248 with major additions in 1644.

Sutton is very small area with a population of less than 140 within the district of Rochford but also very close to Southend-On-Sea. All Saints Church has some sections of the building from the fourteenth century, but most of the structure is later than that. Renovation has taken place over the centuries, particularly in the Victorian era.

Two historic gems that were hidden away from the public until recent times. The remnants of Gogs Berth, nearer the camera are from the Victorian Era. Two large barges, Gog and Magog, used to transport weapons and munitions from Woolwich Arsenal via the River Thames to Gogs Berth where the ordnance was unloaded for testing on the military ranges and mudflats at Shoeburyness, Essex. Barge Pier served in a similar role in later times. A good spot for fishing I have been told.

This area was sold off by the MOD and a very pleasant walking route along the northern shore of the Thames Estuary has now been created along with a wildlife park called Gunners Park. Lots more land nearby has been used for housing.

A112 KFX parked up on the A13 London Road, Westcliff-On-Sea, Essex.

Looking splendid, as you would expect being part of the Ensignbus Vintage Fleet.

A112 KFX had in its earlier days done duty in National Express livery as a double decker coach.

DCR 349 displayed at the Festival of Steam and Transport 2019. Still can't make up my mind if I like the styling of this model or not. I think that I prefer the very early models from 1934 that had a flat grille instead of the waterfall grille seen here.

The Triumph car business went in to recievership in 1939 and was taken over by new owners. The expertise gained from building this car from aluminium over an ash frame was put to good use in aircraft production during the war years.

Looking east from Southend Victoria Station. In view is very much the product of 1960's concrete jungle planning. Queensway itself was part of a proposed ring road that never got completed (saving some historic buildings). To the right is the Victoria Shopping Centre car park and in the distance are high rise blocks of flat that are destined to be demolished in a long term plan.

Displayed at Chelmsford Museum.

Chelmsford based Crompton's were major players in the early days of electricity. Sometimes easy to forget that electric powered vehicle systems were already in place before the rise of petrol and diesel powered vehicles.

Photograph taken in 2019.

YN10 FZD day tripping from its home base in Luton to Southend-On-Sea, Essex.

This style of Plaxton Cheetah midi-coach body was in production from 1997 until 2014. Replaced by the Cheetah XL.

Some shades of 1950's styling here may be. I certainly like it.
