As the name suggest the church is located on the main road in Lurgan. Built on the site of and earlier church in 1826 with a major makeover in 1910. The frontage does remind me of cinemas from the pre Great War era.
Lots of other churches nearby within this town.
Well, it is a tavern and it is next to a railway! In Duke Street, Chelmsford. One of Gray and Sons chain of tenanted pubs which are all in Essex.
Controversial street scaping using a government funding scheme. Narrow road lanes and rust coloured pylons in a central reservation are features. The muti-coloured building on the left is mainly student accomodation with some retail outlets and a car park. Very often refered to as the Lego building locally.
815 UXF displayed at the Festival of Steam and Transport 2019. Historic Dockyard Chatham.
Powered by a 3½ litre petrol engine. By 1942 all Ford production in America was for military use. 815 UXF is a righthand drive version.
Parkway is one of the main traffic corridors leading in to the city centre. This view shows the bi-directional flow flyover going across the notorious Army and Navy roundabout. The Army and Navy Pub itself stood on the right of this photograph and was demolished in 2007.
Just visible in the background is a lattice tower. This is in fact the only complete Battle of Britain Chain Home 360' high radar tower remaining, although not in its original location.
Nice looking twenty year old Ford Focus in view as well.
Photograph taken in March 2019.
****Update; the flyover has now been demolished****

D8001 in a siding at North Weald Station on the Epping Ongar Railway.
Produced from 1957 throught to 1968. Perhaps not the most successful diesel-electric locomotive, nonetheless about twenty remain with heritage railways and Direct Rail Services. The exterior design does seem to reflect the style of a steam locomotive, with the same limited forward vision. In days gone by they sometimes operated in pairs, nose to nose, which helped with the forward vision problem and gave a useful amount of available power.
Also known as English Electric Type 1
Baya Weaver bird working its nest on a palm tree in a garden near Ludhiana, Punjab.
As is common the wild, the male has to protect its nest as well as any female who shows interest in it from competing males.
357 033 is from the first batch of these C2C units built between 1999 and 2001. Photographed here at Leigh-On-Sea Station heading towards Shoeburyness.
The line runs from London Fenchurch Street to Southend-On-Sea and Shoeburyness, Essex on a direct route. There is also a loop from Barking to Pitsea via Grays, which was the original route when the line was first built back in the 1850's.

Red-vented Bulbul bird with a dragonfly catch for feeding its nestlings (baby birds before growth of feathers) nesting at my house in Ludhiana, Punjab.
This bird was perched and waiting for me to leave the terrace before it flew to its nest to feed the nestlings. The parent bulbuls would stay away from the nest as long as they could notice me nearby. I had to be very careful and remain hidden so that the birds' nesting activities could continue without disturbance. The parents were also quite aggressive in protecting their best whenever I got too close.
SN66 WHS on its first day in service sporting a livery reflecting that of Southend Corporation Transport which worked the Southend-On-Sea to Rayleigh, Essex route 1 for several decades. The route now runs from Shoeburyness to Rayleigh Station via Southend Bus Station.

Undine was built in China during 1991 and has a 11,854 gross tonnage. Registered in Luxembourg.
There is another merchant vessel of the same name of over 67,000 tons registered in Sweden.
Looks calm and peaceful here. But it didn't feel that way out in the middle of the reservoir on my first ever sailing experience on what was a very windy day.
Looking along Queensway to the area known as Victoria Gateway. A controversial tee junction and shared space area that replaced a roundabout. Not to mention the loss of many mature tree as well.
The skyline is dominated by late 1960's and 1970's developments. The residential tower blocks in the distance may well be demolished as part of a long term plan for yet another redevelopment of the area.

I don't really like modified cars like these. But this one does look good.

A poignant winter scene captures the aftermath of the Bosnian War through the lens of resilience and survival. This photograph—taken near Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina—features a father and child walking along a snow-covered road, plastic bags in hand, embodying the silent strength of those displaced by conflict. The yellow railing of the bridge frames the backdrop of steep hillsides and clustered homes that once buzzed with daily life but now bear the weight of war’s memory.
The foggy sky merges with the snow-covered landscape, creating a subdued color palette that echoes the region’s melancholic beauty. The road winds through the rugged hills, lined with patches of ice and snow, revealing the resilience of the people who navigated these treacherous paths to rebuild their lives.
This image is part of a broader documentation of warchitecture—a term coined by Lebanese architect Bernard Khoury that explores the haunting beauty of war-scarred buildings and landscapes. It reflects not only the physical scars left behind but also the emotional weight carried by those who survived.
From the Mihatovići refugee camp to Tuzla’s battered neighborhoods, this photograph stands as a testament to the strength and perseverance of Bosnian refugees.
The redundant signal box is from the late Victorian era. Attached to the post on the right are security camera. Moria Station is the oldest railway station on the Northern Ireland Railway system. It opened on 18th November 1841. The station itself is in County Antrim, but the village of Moria that it serves is in County Down.

A nicely restored building with ongoing development as a craft and business centre in progress.
The present day building replaced an earlier mill with the locally well know family business of W.H. Marriage and Sons operating on this site for 200 years until closure of Moulsham Mill in 1971. This building dates back to 1819 with a major upgrade in 1860 and extensions added in 1890.
Looking east from Southend Victoria Station. In view is very much the product of 1960's concrete jungle planning. Queensway itself was part of a proposed ring road that never got completed (saving some historic buildings). To the right is the Victoria Shopping Centre car park and in the distance are high rise blocks of flat that are destined to be demolished in a long term plan.

How precious some "me time" for parents can be! When our three year old dozes off after dinner, we also love to give each other some space to do our individual things. Of course, those "things" mostly involve a smart phone these days.

Stonechats are named such after their call sound which is like two stones being hit together.
Long-tailed or Rufous-backed Shrike perched on a pole in a field near Ludhiana, Punjab.
Normally I avoid clicking wildlife when it is around or interacting with man-made objects. These images, I decided to click after a second thought. The results, I think, are "not too bad!"

Grey Bushchat bird near Pong Lake in Himachal.
Grey bushchat is a himalayan bird that dwells around the mid and lower mountain ranges and foothill areas of the Himalayas.
Displayed at RAF Museum Hendon.
Weapons Mounted Installation Kit on the specialist military Wolf version of the Land Rover. Used by British Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, but produced with the export market in mind. This WMIK with 24 volt electrics, upgraded axles and armoured body proved to be too expensive to create interest from overseas buyers as the more basic military Land Rover options were good enough for most requirements.
