Label reads: "Charcoal Mellowing...is the secret. The character and rich flavour of new Beenleigh is brought about by Charcoal Mellowing, an age old process which gives it a fine textured smoothness. Old Jim Kirebs, who's been making rum for more years than he cares to remember, double distils every drop and ages it in small oak casks for at least 5 years. Beenleigh started away back in the 1860's when a small river steamer, S.S. Walrus, complete with 'moonshine still' plied the local rivers, anchoring at sugar mill wharves and converting the sugar cane into rum...we are not sure how legal it was then, however nowadays, since 1884 in fact, its all above board. So if you're passing why not drop in and see us, tucked in below Yellowood Mountain on the banks of the Albert River...Then aged in oak!"

Label reads:" Estd. 1877 McWilliam's Mount Pleasant PHILIP HERMITAGE 1969 The climatic conditions existing through the latter months of 1968 and early 1969 resulted in the quantity of red grapes harvested for the 1969 vintage being very limited. Because of this, the 1969 Philip Hermitage is a blend of Hermitage, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, and was matured in 600 gallon oak casks until bottled in July 1971. This blend has produced a very unique wine; full bodied, fruity, with good balance and firm tannin finish. Label reads:" The Pinot Chardonnay grapes for this wine were picked late in January at high sugar and acid levels. The juice was fermented in new French Oak hogsheads in traditional French White Burgundy manner. This is a lighter more delicate wine than in previous years and has been aged for only four months in small wood similar to the 1973 vintage. The Wine is quite high in Alcohol and shows great strenght of acid on the finish which will ensure that the wine will live for many years in the bottle. Murray D Tyrrell Winemaker."

Distinct rose petal and cinnamon spice dominate the nose while the palate shows fresh pear flavours and a crisp finish. Ideal for current consumption and suitable for medium term cellaring. Can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with spicy foods, fresh fruits, most desserts and cheeses...."
