this was my visual merchandising class project. I really had fun doing this project. it took me at least 72 hours to put together. if the mannequin had a head and a face it would have been perfect, but thats all I had to work with.
first I put up a tarp as the base of the background then i pasted blue plastic to make it look like water. The circles on the ceiling are supposed to look like the ripples on the surface of the water. the mannequin is being held up with a broken easel that i found in the sketching room :)
unfortunately this display will be taken down tomorrow. :( ....so i took hundreds of pictures.
The Visual Sign Universe (VSU) was a response to a commission from the advertising agency DDB España to enhance their Sign Bank: an analytical tool that monitors social trends and groups them in terms of various categories (Wellbeing, Values, Tension, Technology, Youth, Heroes…).
The VSU fulfils a dual function: first, it facilitates the analytical work of planners and copywriters in identifying and classifying new trends that affect society and its forms of consumption, and second, it is a powerful tool of communication between the agency and its clients, useful for explaining the creative process, or part of it, from the idea through to its connection with social trends.

VISUAL LIBRARIES - Leave your Mark.
A collaborative, visual project which encourages you to sign out a Visual Library Book and ‘Leave Your Mark’.
A Visual Library Book is whatever you want it to be, a sketchbook, a journal, a diary, a notepad.
You can ‘Leave Your Mark’ in whatever way you want, ranging from drawing, writing, sewing, adding photographs, markings, printing and sticking. How you make your marks is entirely up to you. All we ask is that you have fun with the different themes. Just borrow it on your library card with other books and materials. If you are not already a member, just ask the staff to help you.
45 Visual Library Books have been placed in Portsmouth Central Library and each has its own theme ranging from; Portsmouth, My City, When I Open My Eyes, Whilst I Was Waiting, Love, What’s in My Pocket and Memories.

The truth, we might not agree. The fact, we might misunderstand it. The reality, we might not accept it.

This Versace advertisement is a complex image with a naked women and man intertwined on a black background. The conjunctions of their bodies wrapped around each other prompt the eye to follow the curves of the body and is an excellent example of vectors in a photo. www.bwgreyscale.com/adimg11/adv_5802.JPG
