I drew a box with distorted perspective, such that seen from the angle of the camera lens position it would be seen correctly. Then I placed the shells without covering the foreground vertical and top lines of the box.

So, I had to buy a new motherboard for the Core 2 Duo processor that I was going to build a new computer with. The one I originally intended to use has died a premature death. This'll teach me to buy an electronic component and not use it for almost a year. The capacitors most likely dried out and after a few days the computer failed. This was before the holidays.
Well, the case for this computer is finally coming in after a number of upgrades in the family left me without an enclosure. So, now, hopefully by tomorrow I can finish this project.
So, what operating system am I planning to install? Some form of Linux. It's a toss up between Ubuntu 7.10 or openSUSE 10.3. I'm going to compare a number of virtualization technologies to run Windows with. Xen, Virtualbox, VMware. I'm going to see which one provides the best performance.
A couple weeks ago, I read an article where a guy put tape on the floor, and his cat would go sit in the middle, as if it was a box. He claimed cats will do this because they can't tell the difference between a low sided box and just the tape box. Cats like to be inside cozy areas.
I tried this.....as you can see, Baby decided to 'think outside the box'. Good for him.

Agitation:
Initial 30secs with slight swirling as lid goes on,
then a single turn and swirl back in less than 5 secs at 1:30, 3, 4:30, 6, 7:30, 9, 10:30 and 12 minutes
Water stop, normal fix.
Final wash in water with a drop of dish washing detergent.
Hang to dry 'stretched out' at an 45° angle - no water marks.
Negatives are OK, maybe a tad underdeveloped/exposed.

Dev in upstairs bathroom with Kodak HC110, 1:64, 13:12@20°, 30s initial turning, then a slow turn at full odd minutes.

Final wash water with a drop of dish washing detergent.
Agitation:
30sec initial swirling as lid goes on, the a single turn and swirl back in less than 5 secs at whole minutes 2,3,5,7,9,11,13.

After Google announced the availability of the Chrome OS / Chromium OS source code, one of our engineers (Jon Ursenbach), immediately got to work on compiling the code, trying to see if he could get an instance of Chromium OS running in a virtual machine.
He was finally able to do it! You can download a copy of the virtual machine to use in VMware, VirtualBox, and on a USB drive here (300MB compressed / 700MB uncompressed):

Found a Nikon AF3 while buying a Nikon F-801 for my daughter.
It's not as pretty as the original model but it has some cool features, like the white diffuser when it fires the flash at short distances, also it has "the" button for stoping the ever wanting to fire flash and at last but not least a nice macro distance.
The lense is good but i found it a little soft.
Nice camera to hang arround anyway. This little one will be a keeper.
Scanned with an old Canon Canoscan FS4000us, with the original software Filmget, running on windows xp, with Photosp CS6. All thru Virtualbox on a modern laptop with windows 10.

Development:
Caffenol 20/6/16/1.8 grams of Soda/Askorbic acid/instant Coffe/Salt for 400ml,
15 min @ 21°C, agitation: 30s initially, then a slow inversion and tapping at even minutes.
Would probably have been better with more of that salt (5mg Iodine/100g).
Maybe also a shorter time - negatives dark with a clear visible fog.

VirtualBox can also boot from an image that should otherwise be burned onto a CD. A LiveCD without burning it!
Sat. Night and learned to Virtual Box. Running Windows 7 & Lightroom 3.6 Fullscreen on my Linux Dual Display Desktop.
Pushing the max here as older Amd dual core & 4gb of ram with older Ati 4350 card.
But works and so far not to shabby as long as I don't try to do multitude of of apps and actions.
As with only 4gb or ram gave 2 to windows7 and 2 to my linux desktop.
Lightroom 3.6 seems to work on jpegs just fine.
Still need to get Usb devices working to give it a full workout with raw images.

Taken with F100, Nikkor 35-70/2.8, ORWO UN54/ISO 100, EI 100.
Development:
XTOL (1:2 = 1+1), 5:30 minutes and then
Thorntons Metaborate solution for 3 min @ 20°C
(9g Borax, 1.8g Sodium hydroxide in one liter water, 400ml used for this film)
Agitation:
Initial 30secs with slight swirling as lid goes on,
then a single turn and swirl back in less than 5 secs at 1, 3 and 5min.
Water stop, normal fix.
Final wash in water with a drop of dish washing detergent.
Hang to dry 'stretched out' at an 45° angle - no water marks.
Negatives are OK.

The "Darkroom" job in Darktable 2.0.2 running under Ubunt 14.0.4 LTS
This is my new computer, the first wave of Dell netbooks to hit the brazilian market!
The stickers are a temporary hack to use the proper US-Intl keyboard layout, instead of the weird ABNT2 that comes with it.
I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 Desktop on it, the XP that comes pre-installed was moved to a VirtualBox VM.

This is my workstation at home now. It's my Lenovo S10 running Mac OSX 10.5.6 hooked up to my 20" Dell display and wired keyboard and mouse. Also includes the iPhone dock and a 250gig WD drive hidden away for storage and Time Machine.
It's definitely not the fastest system in the universe but it's been responsive enough overall. With 2gigs of RAM I can run downloaded TV shows on the S10 screen and switch on the main screen between Safari, Adium, and Lightroom. I've easily gotten used to the workflow speed on this setup.
Here I just have it running Windows XP in a VirtualBox VM because it's kinda meta.

What is THIS on my Fedora desktop???
Windows XP Pro!!! Happily tamed and running in it's own little window inside of Fedora Linux VirtualBox!!! There was ONE thing I did easilly in Winblows that was proving to be a pain in Linux, recording streaming audio. So...I created a virtual windows to run my favorite stream ripper in! Hey, I bought and paid for them, might as well still make use of them on my terms rofl!!!
