Notes lost (1+9:50 Fomadon R09+XTOL:Water, 20°C ?)
Agitation:
Initial 30secs with slight swirling as lid goes on,
then a single turn and swirl back in less than 5 secs at full odd minutes
Water stop, normal fix.
Final wash in water with a drop of dish washing detergent.
Hang to dry 'stretched out' at an 45° angle - no water marks.
Negatives with fair contrast.
Re-scanned using Reflecta RPS 10M and Cyberview X5/WinXP/Virtualbox (2016-01-02)

Nope, I haven't written a line of software yet. But I have the Tegra SDK installed on top of the Ubuntu that's inside the VirtualBox that's on my Mac.
I did type - I typed 'make clean' then 'make', dragged the resulting directory (just to make sure I had the shaders and textures in place) onto the Colibri, and typed './bubble'
And hey presto, ./bubble is what I got.
Awesome. I have to say, thanks and well done to Kevin and his team, because there were no guarantees this would work on this platform, but it just does. And well done the Toradex Linux team, it just worked. Easy as pie.
Again, awesome.
Now I need to try the same on my TrimSlice.
But the joy of all this is, I can develop software for these glorious little machines from the comfort of my Mac, and that makes all the difference to me. Because I do hate being trapped on a Windows machine, particularly when my modelling package and Photoshop are on the Mac. One-stop shopping. Brilliant.
UPDATE - for those following or interested in the Raspberry Pi - I'm very interested in it, it's a wonderful thing to put naked computing, programmable hardware and Linux rather than a copy of MS Word into the hands of eager and smart children - this Toradex is approximately 7x the performance of the Raspberry Pi as a 'doing maths' computer. That's 2x 1 GHz Cortex A9 vs single 700MHz ARM11. Computationally, for those who speak iOS devices, about 1.5x iPad 2 vs about iPod Touch 2nd Gen. Big performance gap. Hence the price difference - Raspberry Pi $35 for the 256M version, Toradex eu119 (down to eu89 in high volume), about $170 down to a volume price of $128.

This is what I use at work to get real work done. A 2008 model Dell Mini 9, with 1GB of RAM and an Atom CPU. Not shown is the 16GB Crucial USB stick that I use as the system volume (I'm not using the internal storage of the netbook, it has been zero-wiped.) The 24" widescreen display makes for a comfortable working surface, along with the traditional keyboard and pointer. On the right is a Cisco phone that goes largely ignored (I favor IM as do most of my coworkers.) That's a rooted Nook Color on the right, which I use in place of the netbook while on-the-go. On the left is the Livescribe Pen and a journal for taking written notes. When I need to access those notes at work, I use Windows 7 running on VirtualBox. The VM is stored on an encrypted hard disk which is locked in the overhead cabinet. At times, particularly when Update Manager is running, the USB key can bog down with a write queue, but most times the writes are so sporadic and brief that performance is indistinguishable from a traditional drive, and better-performing USB keys are available than this one. One might complain that the netbook is cramped computationally, but I find that with few exceptions, most of my work fits within the 1GB of RAM with very minimal swapping, and only when the Win7 VM is launched do I really feel the performance hit. If my workload requires substantial local computing resources, I can borrow a more powerful computer and use the same bootable USB key to execute my work on the borrowed machine without affecting its internal storage. Together, the netbook and the display consume less than 60 watts under most loads, and the portability afforded by the bootable USB key gives me tremendous flexibility in maintaining a resilient and low-cost computing "practice." I'm no longer tied to a machine. (OS is Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick, Evolution for Mail, Eclipse for development.)

В последние дни самое мощное российское зеркало Линукс-дистрибутивов mirror.yandex.ru работает, как говорят, "через пень-колоду". Некоторые вполне обосновано считают, что сервер "прилег" от желающих скачать новый релиз Убунту.
Я конечно понимаю, что всем хочется чего-нибудь новенького, но для этого не обязательно "ложить" сервер всероссийского значения. Достаточно использовать для скачивания torrent, а еще лучше metalink. Увы.
Так что, пока многие линуксоиды "ломятся" за Убунту, я предпочитаю подождать выхода openSUSE 11.2. Впрочем, большинство новшеств нового Убунту уже работают на моем openSUSE 11.1 (см. иллюстрацию) и работали бы еще лучше, если бы убунтовцы позволяли беспрепятственно обновляться с openSUSE-Factory на mirror.yandex.ru.
Found a Nikon AF3 while buying a Nikon F-801 for my daughter.
It's not as pretty as the original model but it has some cool features, like the white diffuser when it fires the flash at short distances, also it has "the" button for stoping the ever wanting to fire flash and at last but not least a nice macro distance.
The lense is good but i found it a little soft.
Nice camera to hang arround anyway. This little one will be a keeper.
Scanned with an old Canon Canoscan FS4000us, with the original software Filmget, running on windows xp, with Photosp CS6. All thru Virtualbox on a modern laptop with windows 10.

January 15, 2016. This is my coffee cup. It gets a lot of use (so does the table surface behind it). I bought it in Aachen years ago. Good day today - ran node.js on an Ubuntu image on Docker, which was running on another Ubuntu image in Vagrant running VirtualBox on my Windows 10 laptop. Probably overkill, but I wanted to see if I could do it. Still one layer of port forwarding too many.

gedit in dark tango theme. Best development environment IMHO. Somehow things are easier to edit against black background. Don't know why.
I have tried the many hacks to get Eclipse to do dark backgrounds but it takes a *lot* of work, and still can't quite do it nicely... gedit's shell integration and the python console is awesome. hard to beat for any other tools found in any OS. This is why even when I'm on Vista I still use virtualbox.org to have a Linux desktop open at all times.

This finally means, I should no longer have to dual boot my laptop between linux & Vista.
I can now do the following.
1. Boot Vista from virtualbox & inside of Linux ( I will no longer need to dual boot operating systems). i used a program called disk2vhd for converting the hdd into a virtual hdd.
2. I have USB support & can plug in a my mp3 player into my REAL computer & Virtual Vista can see it. I had to get the virtualbox extensions pack to enable USB2.0
3. I can download DRM protected audiobooks from the public library into Vista & then move those books onto my mp3 player & then listen to them.
4. I can also download DRM protected ebooks in epub & PDF formats and put them on my sony prs-350 ereader
VirtualBox can run Mac OS X as a guest.
But you have to download a hacked version of the Tiger (or Leopard), then you have to:
- disable acpi on virtualbox
- enable VT-x/AMD-v on virtualbox (only recent processors supports them)
- pass the param 'platform=x86pc' on the command line before booting
(one can also edit the file /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist to get the same effect)
Then OS X should start without any problem and it should run very well (it does, on my intel e6300 with 2GB RAM)

VirtualBox is a Type 2 Hypervisor, a user-space program which runs in the host operating system (in our case, the host OS is OpenIndiana) and emulates a hardware virtual machine, and is one of very few hypervisors running on Solaris and its descendants. It also runs on Linux, MacOS and Windows, is GPL2'ed, and the VirtualBox 4.x Extension Pack with extra features is free for "Personal Use and Evaluation", making it a very versatile tool.
