Ashlee and I came up with this idea a few days ago when we both realized we purchased these magnetic letters. This is our first stop motion together. Hopefully we will do more in the future.
The concept of this is self explanatory, at least in my opinion. But if you have any questions, feel free to contact either one of us. Thank you.

Shot with 'Mysteron' hacked GH2, Sankor 16C 2x anamorphic lens attached to a Nikkor AF 50/1.8D. The original ProRes file looks fantastic in 4K x 1K. This was shot and rendered as 3.55:1 widescreen in FCPX. A gentle color correction was added to each clip individually. It was dull weather so I was able to shoot without ND-filters. A Vid-Atlantic filter holder is on its way. I used +1 and +10 diopters for some of the tighter shots. This is my first encounter with an anamorphic lens, loving it already to bits and pieces. Thanks Evan Burns for delivering this excellent kit to me! Make sure to download the 1080p file! I'll see if I can make the full 3840 x 1080 ProRes available somewhere for download as well. It's a must see. :)

Was using the B W 49mm Kaesemann Circular Polarizer MRC Filter on bright, sunny day. Check out the low glare off the rocks and water and the bright blue sky! "I got my 5D MkII a couple of days before going on holiday with some friends. I just had the time to update the firmware and play with it a bit so I decided that I would do a lot of testing on holiday.
What started as multiple tests clip ended up as a little souvenir of the holiday with my friends.
The whole thing was edited in FCP without converting the original clips, not the most practical thing but I didn't want to wait for the endless conversion to Prores... Then it was graded in Color, and then exported to 720p H.264 for Vimeo.
Gear used:
5D MKII
- Tokina 12-24 f/4 (Aps-C lens, can give interesting effects, It's usable without vignetting from 16mm to 24mm without the lens hood)
- Canon 70-200 f/4L IS USM
- Canon 50 f/1.8 (Amazing low light capabilities, see the shots around the fire)
- Sigma 70-300 f/4-5,6 APO DG MACRO
- Tamron 28-75 f/2,8
- Bilora Tripod
Most of the shots were filmed with the 12-24 and 70-200 but all the lenses listed above were used.
Remember this was made as a test so I know there is too much focus pulling but it was for testing purpose.

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!
What a beautiful way to test the Nikon D810 and Tamron 150-600mm zoom lens for sports photography!
