The Swan View Tunnel, in John Forrest National Park, is a reminder of when the rail link to the rest of Australia once passed that way. It is the only railway tunnel ever constructed in Western Australia and is now part of the John Forrest Heritage Trail, which runs through the park.
The original railway line, built in 1884 ran from Midland to Mundaring.The man in charge of the project to build the new line and tunnel in 1893 was the great Charles Yelverton O'Connor

* The tunnel runs through granite with a maximum cover of 27.5 metres above the ceiling
* The maximum height at the crown of the arch is 4.3 metres

* The tunnel was completed in 1895 at a cost of A$24,321.06)
Sunday afternoon free concert at the Greenbelt at Calabasas Lake, The Section Quartet ( I know from this angle you don't see the cellist) rocked the park with selections from Radiohead, the Strokes and Led Zeppelin!

The view is from the 7th floor. The circle is the main trafic spot in Ramallah - a really nice city with marvellous people.
Den østlige del af middelalderbyen ligger inden for oldtidens paladsmure, den vestlige del er vokset udenfor. Bygningen med blytaget er dåbskapellet (oprindelig jupitertemplet). I baggrunden Marjan-højen.
The eastern part of the medieval city is inside the antique palace walls, the western part has grown outside it. The building with the lead roof is the baptistery (originally the temple of Jupiter). In the background the Marjan Hill.
I have long wanted to do a snow globe referencing the "Planet of the Apes". As is occasionally the case I started the piece and let the special twist/point come to me. After consideration I decided to have this one make comment on how public spaces (for example, Riis Beach) are being monetized and the consequences of creating/catering to such tourism endeavors:
