I like going to somewhere high or going to a quiet place when I am disappointed by the ugly thoughts and lies around me. ( Sorry, perhaps I shouldn't express how I feel about the situation by which I was so upset and annoyed. )
Looking at the clouds and the view of a beautiful land always makes me feel calm, I call it an escape. When I took the shot few weeks ago I was fine, and I wasn't unhappy at all. And now I just want to escape from the deceiver.

Using a cameraphone to view negatives ...
I've been meaning to write this trick up as a mini tutorial, but for now this little example will have to do.
Occassionally I'll be looking at a negative and want to get a quick feel for what it looks like. In the case of the image here, it was brought in by a visitor to the Who Do You Think You Are? Live show where I was working dating old photographs.
The trick is simple: on your cameraphone (or on most 'point and shoot' digital cameras) put the camera in 'negative' mode. This is often found in the 'options' or 'effects' menu. You'll see that the hand and all background objects (including the white sheet of paper it is being viewed against) now look odd, but the image itself is good enough for viewing.
I thought I would sepia tone this one to create a dated feel because this view always seems to have a timelessness to it! I guess it is because I have walked this footpath for 60 years (not continuously of course ;-0) as, even when I was a toddler, my parents would regularly walk along the Purbeck ridge. At the time, I didn't enjoy it at all and usually walked complainingly 100 yards behind them. Strange how things change because as I grew up, I came to love walking more and more!
This is the footpath that climbs from Corfe Castle up onto the ridge and over Nine Barrow Down - so called because it has nine barrows on it!! In this picture, the ridge runs away west, finishing on the coast at Flower's Barrow.
This one is also better on black......but this time, keep the screen in the ON position ;-)!!

Firostefani lies to the north of Fira and there is little difference that separates it from its considerable larger neighbour. Without a doubt, the views from this part of Santorini are spectacular, offering another perspective of Santorini volcano. One can enjoy the magnificent sight of Fira itself and the breathtaking sunset in the evening. The village has plenty of restaurants and cafes located on the most fabulous locations. Between the village of Firostefani and Imerovigli lies the Agios Nikolas Monastery. Hotels are plenty in Firostefania. They are quite picturesque with vividly colored houses. There are also few shops, most of them are concentrated at the main shopping street, at the centre of Firostefani.

We spent a week on Santorini during the beginning of May enjoying its picturesque magic quite heavily. One may be surprised that its towns are rather crowded even before the peak tourist season, but it is still a special place for enjoying slow pace of Greek islands life.
Less crowded than neighboring Fira, the settlement of Firostefani is perched on a top of a cliff in a similarly magnificent way, and its white washed houses and blue domes form a really wondrful sight.
This is a view taken at the Blue Dolphins apartments, on the way from Fira to Imerovigli.

Back to our Baker Beach visit last Saturday; I continued to struggle to compose an image without a naked man marring my view. Even on the distant rocks, I kept encountering the unwanted sight of bare buns on the Baker Beach Boys... the fellow below seemed to be searching for something on the rocks - perhaps his trousers? or maybe he was just trying to figure out how to do a bit a rock climbing with no "protective gear" on...
dont' worry, it's safe to view large - the buns have been carefully omitted from this view:
Thank you for over 3 million views!!, being an avid barefooter, I do know theses are just pictures of my feet, but I do enjoy doing this and I do it for those interested seeing where life takes "me barefoot of course!" and I always encourage you to download, save and share my pictures, add them as your favorites, comment on them, "what are your thoughts when you see them?" ,, you can always write me as well!!

To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
