Great sadness today, so many touched by David Bowie's gift of music have joined together to express their love and feeling of loss. I felt moved to make a short video tribute tonight.
Some 4K UHD time-lapse footage at twilight on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia while waiting for the comet Neowise to come into view. No comet in the video, but the Big Dipper is visible.
This video (turn up volume for sound) was shot at the Blue Ridge Parkway Great Valley Overlook, looking at the Bedford County side. Wasn't much for a sunrise, but the high wind yielded some great cloud movement. ©2020 John M. Hudson | jmhudson1.com
If a girl can’t goof off on Saturday morning, when can she goof off?
This Blythe doll is Simply Sparkly Spark, posing for the theme “Goof Off” in the Blythe a Day group on Flickr. The very detailed game controllers were part of a key chain. The background is from a Barbie play set.

A Christmas Carol. In Prose. Being a Ghost Story of Christmas, commonly known as A Christmas Carol, is a novella by Charles Dickens, first published in London by Chapman & Hall in 1843 and illustrated by John Leech. A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. I made some new baggies. The video screen changes colors, images, and zoom or rotates. This is a child version. Thanks goes to Cherry for being a model.
They can be found at Gin in ThE CluB:

Please don't take this the wrong way. Creativeness is of course priority, and making every screenshot the same way would become boring pretty fast. This is just a quick look on some ENB adjustements you can make.
Check out my video from my shoot a few weeks back.

This is a VERY POOR quality video, but I just want to see if there would be interest in videos like this in the future?
So what do you think? Please comment or fave to let me know.
I've only been dressing for 4 months so I still don't know how to move properly obviously!
Not uploaded anything for short while as been working on a video. I only got into this photography marlarkey through video production after buying a Canon 7d , as a lot of indie film makers did / do. Not done anything like this for a while so thought I would jump straight in at the deep end with this rather labour intensive effort. Good practice and discovered some new techniques stay tuned for the finished thing shot at Denbigh Asylum this is a screen grab from the video in production.
Watch They Might Be Giants' new video "Insect Hospital+" created by me, made w/ 6 short songs from their fantastic new album Nanobots!
Hize esta peliculita para felicitar a mi mamá por su cumpleaños, era un poco más larga pero tuve que cortar algunas partes para Flickr, espero que les guste...
I made this little movie as a gift for my mom, I hope you like it!
...literally, and very likely my last.
Good morning everyone. While not a fan of videos here on flickr I decided to post just this one of a male Pileated Woodpecker (Dryocopus pileatus) feeding at the suet filled knot hole. Pileated Woodpeckers are typically very elusive and shy and I thought a video of one would be a treat for those that rarely get to see one of these magnificent birds, of which we have been blessed with a number of them visiting this year.
As for the video, it's a little over one minute long, but for some reason it plays twice. I'd re-upload it, but didn't realized it played twice until after a number of people had already commented on it. What a disaster...I'm so sorry about that :-(
If you can bear with it, towards the very end of the video two other birds make an appearance. First a female Cardinal, which the woodpecker shoos away and at the very end a Downy Woodpecker. Kind of neat the Downy would visit while taking the video since it gives a nice comparison between it, being the smallest woodpecker in North America, and the Pileated, which is the largest at 15.7 - 19.3 inches (40 - 49 cm) in length.
Also, please notice how often the Pileated Woodpecker cleans/wipes it's bill on the tree. Something most woodpeckers do, but the Pileated seems to do it way more often than other woodpeckers. Almost to the extreme.
I hope you enjoy this video, and have no fear in that it will not be the first of many from yours truly. One of the reasons is it seems to take forever for a video to upload.
Thank you for stopping by...and I hope you're having a truly nice first week of July.
Lacey
PS...with this being my first ever video posted I couldn't help but notice how much the quality of the video deteriorated from uploading it to flickr, of which there was not much I could do about it. Sorry.
PSS...and in case anyone is curious, this video was taken with my Pentax K-3 camera, which surprised me how nice it switched from still pics that I was taking to the video feature without any hiccups. And so you'll know...this is the first video I've ever taken with the camera plus the 150-450mm zoom.
Setting for the camera at the time were...
ISO3200, aperture f/5.6, exposure .003 seconds (1/320) focal length 200
