Built in the Nineteenth Century, this rambling weatherboard villa may be found in the small alpine town of Wandiligong.

This villa is quite large and obviously belonged to someone of means. It features several substantial red brick chimneys and an elegant shady verandah that runs around the perimeter of the house. The house has a beautiful terraced garden full of mature deciduous trees and clipped hedges.

Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.

I saw this lovely Victorian while taking the Canal Street Streetcar. It is located at the corner of S. Derbigny and Canal Streets.

It is the only house standing in a two block area near the University Medical Center.

It looks like it is undergoing restoration. Hopefully, it's not going to be torn down for a parking lot!

I just love this place. It's not you typical lighthouse, but I think the Victorian architecture is so wonderfully quaint and the gardens that have been created around it, make it doubly charming. This is the back of the building.

It was built in 1874, It has a Fourth-order Fresnal lens. that can be seen 13 nautical miles (24km; 15 mi) out.

In 1913 a severe storm ripped up the coastline and brought the surf dangerously close to the structure, threatening the foundation. It was temporarily closed and moved 150 ft west. It reopened a year later.

In 1964 the light was decommissioned, The lighthouse was boarded up and slowly fell into disrepair until 1982 when a bunch of locals rallied around this wonderful building and lovingly restored it.

Today it's on the both the National and State Register of Historic Places

It is operated and maintained with money generated by Lighthouse tours, the gift shop and various fundraising projects

The railway viaduct that runs across the top of Fareham Creek and the river Wallington. I have always loved this amazing Victorian brick structure as it is so well built. I wonder how many bricklayers and labourers worked on it and how long it took to build

My son Curtis and I stopped in for lunch after touring the cemetery, but were turned away because our daytime dress was not formal enough, go figure huh. We only wanted a quick lunch but It was just as well I guess, because I later learned that tid bits for lunch start at $16.00 and I had a hungry teenager with me..:-))

Geneva, New York.

The former Nottingham London Road Low Level, originally the Great Northern Railway’s city terminus. It was built in 1857 and designed in a Jacobean-cum-French chateau style by local architect Thomas Chambers Hine. The station declined in importance after the opening of the more centrally-located Nottingham Victoria station in 1899, into which the GNR had running powers. Latterly just serving local trains, London Road High Level lost its passenger service in 1944, but remained in use until 1989 as a parcels depot. The building enjoys Grade II listed status and has been very well restored since this photograph was taken, today in use as a Virgin Fitness Centre.

Opened in 1864 and designed by Cuthbert Brodrick—better known for Leeds Town Hall—the Leeds Corn Exchange is a striking example of Victorian architecture with its grand oval shape and domed roof. Once a bustling hub for grain trading, the Grade I-listed building is now home to independent shops and cafés, blending 19th-century splendour with modern creativity. A true architectural treasure in the heart of Leeds.
