On 29 June 2013 Nottingham was the host to the National Armed Forces Day 2013 Event.

The day started with marches from the Nottingham Castle to the Old Market Square where a Drumhead Ceremony took place with a fly over bu the Red Arrows.

Throughout the city were events to commemorate and pay tribute to the British Armed Forces. Of these events was the displays and events on the Victoria Embankment where you could met and see all the branches of the armed forces.

These photographs are dedicated to all those brave men and women throughout our history who have served our country proudly.

We thank you for your bravery, your service and dedication. Best Wishes to you all. WE are proud of you, Our Heroes.

Looks like someone is getting a ticket. Further down the road we had witnessed a case of road rage.....coach and car alongside each other....roadworks narrows the lanes down to one....neither vehicle is prepared to give way...sounding of horns....fist waving....heated exchange of words....bang....vehicles go into the side of each other.

It is funny when you are not involved. Yet it also makes you realise it could be you one day, but with more serious consequences.

Prelude to the T.U.C's "March for the Alternative", London, 26/03/2011

Continuing my coverage of the amazing half a million working people who joined together from all corners of the United Kingdom to march in protest against the vicious public sector job cuts and cuts to all Public Services planned by David Cameron's Conservative government.

I won't rant any further - read my previous "March for the Alternative" photo descriptions for that - so please just enjoy these images of the preparations for the march which started early in the morning along London's Victoria Embankment.

Three city workers (possibly the real life IT Crowd?) stand on the pavement of Victoria Embankment on a glorious Friday afternoon in London, looking over at Southwark on the opposite side of the River Thames whilst deciding what to do now that work's finished for the week.

After dithering for a while, they finally hailed a black cab and disappeared into the weekend sun.
