"He could just hear her breathing on the other side. Not strong enough to melt the ice between them."

Or alternate title could be: IKEA Barn kit with some parts missing.

Actually I think this barn has lost it's siding to the growing trend of using barn siding for home decorating projects.

Statue of James Henry Greathead, London

The bronze statue depicts a bearded Greathead wearing a broad-brimmed hat (an allusion to his South African origins) and carrying a coat over his right arm, holding a piece of paper which he is reading. It stands on a hollow oval Portland stone base with granite plinth, which conceals a ventilation shaft. The base bears a bronze plaque on one side depicting a tunnelling shield with an inscription that credits Greathead as being the "inventor of the travelling shield that made possible the cutting of the tunnels of London's deep level tube system". (A part of the tunnelling shield used at Bank station was rediscovered during a refurbishment, and left visible painted red in a passageway leading to the Waterloo & City line.) The other side of the base bears the carved stone badge of the City & South London Railway.

One fascinating idea for extracting air from one of the mines served by the East Broad Top RR in Robertsdale, Pa.. Missing is the drive power thought to be a steam engine and driven by a steel webbed belt hanging loose. Love the curved blades used to pull the air out of the mine through a ventilation shaft. BTW, the fan rotates counter clockwise when viewed from this POV, mine vent is below the fan.
