All along the "Noordzeekanaal". This canal connects the Ij/Markermeer/Ijsselmeer via Amsterdam, the port of Amsterdam, with Ijmuiden and the North Sea. Sailing along this canal, there are many interesting things to watch and take photos of. But don't forget to watch the traffic and your track...

Since flickr has shut down the help forum, i want to share links with two new groups which are dedicated to replace the forum in a way.
Running parallel to the QE2 bridge are the two original tunnels under the Thames. It used to be that one carried northbound traffic and the other southbound. The bridge now carries all the southbound traffic so both tunnels carry those heading up from Kent to Essex. In a situation where the bridge has to close, such as very bad weather, the tunnels revert back to one in each direction. The funnels opposite are ventilation shafts for the tunnels.

The wife and I did not wish to join other family for a Thanksgiving celebration, so in lieu of doing that, we packed the car up and headed literally for the hills. The weather was nice and the scenery fine. Deer, wild turkeys, vultures, hawks and other wildlife were all out.
