Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Bark. From the parking area the loop trail to the falls and back is about 700 metres.

Veils of ice hang from trees along Georgian Bay.

Lucky that we have so many lovely walks on our doorstep in these difficult times...

Where the veil is thin

Where the veil is thin

That's where I am

That's where you'll be

When our skies overlap

And our stars shine the same

We will see

You & me

Each other

Across the street

When the veil is thin

We are one and the same

Our paths will cross

We will meet again

I have never seen you

We have not touched

But when the veil is thin

Nothing will be too much

Where the veil thin

Fates will intertwine

People will say hello

People will say goodbye

But where the veil is thin

For a moment

It will be just you & I

Bright points of starlight pierce a magenta veil of aurora light with a pulsing band of green shimmering over the city of Boulder, Colorado. While I am a few days late and a few dollars short posting this, seeing the multi-colored Aurora light was a first for me, and I was struck by how quickly the light conditions changed. Within fifteen minutes of making this image, the green had vanished and the magenta light higher in the atmosphere remained.

The Veil Nebula and my first finished image of the season.

Close-up shot through a plastic mesh and against a window light (plus two LED lights to illuminate the face). The much-discussed "doughnut-shaped" bokeh is produced by the catadioptric lens, i.e. the fact that one of the mirrors sits in the centre of the surface of the lens and thus produces circles of bokeh with a hole in the middle.

We know so little of the why, what the universe is, what infinity is. The veil around us is very fragile. [Conor McPherson]

While waiting for the sun to go down and the tourists like myself to leave, we made our way to Bridal Veil Falls to see what it looked like. Well much to our surprise it was actually quite beautiful!!! It was a backlit shot but I managed to get a bit of a sunstar to add to the frame. Kris.

The day is gone,

Light is fading,

Darkness dawns,

Hope is waning.

it's blade unsheathed,

Shadows seek,

To conquer, undefeated.

But though all seems lost,

Faith is near, and prevails.

The sword of wrath is left to rust,

The Veil of Darkness, broken.

This waterfall is just over two miles from where we live, and I have photographed it many times. Today, I decided to try a different approach and focus on the 'heart' of the cascade only :-)

To all who view and/or comment on my pix, each is a help and a pleasure in equal measure. Thank you.

But if you treat me wrong

I’ll be gone

Gone before the sun goes down”

Veil upon Veil you hide

The wellspring of the Infinite

The blue that delights

Pierces the heart

And produces a sapphire jewel.

Ettermiddag med vindstille på Beitstadfjorden.

Dead calm on the fjord in the afternoon. Steinkjer, Norway.

2 Chronicles 3:14 “And he made the veil of blue, purple, crimson, and fine linen, and wove cherubim into it.”

What's that? You haven't seen a waterfall picture in a while? Never fear, Rich Border is here. On a recent trip to our beloved southern neighbor I made a quick dash down to Bridal Veil Falls. Me and another fifty people.... Situated on the amazing Columbia River gorge this two tiered beauty drops 118 feet down a shaft its gouged out for itself through a basalt wall. Blow it up and take it in, she's a wonderful sight.

This was the 3rd day of fog in the Peak District and the only day I could actually go out. Standing looking down into the Hope Valley in the early afternoon was like watching an animation, the fog constantly shifting and changing compositions almost by the second. Who knew photography could be so exciting!

What are you asking? My permission?

With fresh rainfall, the veil affect increases on the falls. With the current draught in the Fraser Valley, the veil affect is reduced. The best time for maximum veil affect is after winter rains.

Tried a few different things while processing

The Veil nebula is a large, relatively faint, supernova remnant in the constellation of Cygnus. At an estimated distance of 1470 light years the nebula is formed of a cloud of ionised hydrogen and oxygen gas. The star that formed the nebula is thought to have exploded between 5000 and 8000 years ago and the matter from that explosion has been expanding ever since to cover an area of roughly three degrees, or six time the apparent diameter of the full moon.

The final image is made up of a four panel mosaic and the raw data was gathered over several sessions throughout the Autumn months of 2016 and 2017. Shot in narrowband Ha and OIII wavelengths, with RGB added for the star colours, the total exposure time was just over 30 hours.
