Object: The Veil Nebula – Cygnus Loop SHO (2022)
The visual portion of the Cygnus Loop also known as the Veil Nebula, Cirrus Nebula or the Filamentary Nebula is located in the constellation Cygnus. The area includes the components:
-NGC6990 - “Western Veil" or "Witch's Broom",
-NGC6992 – NGC6995 – IC1340 - “Eastern Veil"
-Pickering's Wedge, or Pickering's Triangular Wisp.
The entire area is the remnant of a supernova explosion that occurred about 20.000 years ago and has been expanding ever since.
Distance from Earth: about 2400 light years

Poverty is a veil that obscures the face of greatness.

What lies beyond the green veil! Tune in to find out... I did poke the lens through this wonderful green curtain and take a shot of the tree lurking in the misty background, maybe tomorrow... I also got very wet from the mist dripping off the leaves :)
Portion of the Eastern Veil Nebula also known as Caldwell 33, whose brightest area is NGC6992.
The Veil Nebula is a cloud of heated and ionized gas and dust in the constellation Cygnus.
The Nebula was discovered on 1784 by William Herschel.
Given a distance of 2400 Light Years, this gives the radius of the entire nebula as 64 Light Years.
Undulations in the surface of the shell lead to multiple filamentary images, which appear to be intertwined.

It shrouds Mont Blanc or it cuts it in half.... happy Easter. It's a capture from the skiing holidays in February, I thought I'd post something other than flowers for (an early ) Easter Sunday!
That wispy cloud hovered for an age just left of Mont Blanc, I was at the point of putting the camera away for the night when it just suddenly but gently seemed to throw itself as a veil over the mountain, the shadow intersecting the mountain
Hear my promise of blistering light
Sowing the rose of obsidian
My dear I promise
Death comes to all
In a heartbeat only silence
Let's play with the fire that runs in our veins
Trust in the might of a miracle
Now winter has come a
And I'll stand in the snow
I don't feel the cold
And it's all that I will ever need to believe
One day I know
We will meet again
In the shade of a life to die for
Watching the world
Through the eyes of a child
In elysium
Will I know you then?
(Will I know you then?)
Now bring down your fortress
And swallow your pride
Don't break in your moments of ignorance
Existence will capture a spark of life
Just a fragment
But it's all that I will ever need to revive
One day I know
We will meet again
In the shade of a life to die for
Watching the world
Through the eyes of a child
In elysium
Will I find you there in that darkness
Of the shadow that comes over all
Dear friend will I know you then
Will I know you then at all
Les feuilles des érables du Canada sont sorties, et un gracieux voile entoure l'Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix Mont Blanc France
The leaves of the Canadian Maple tree popped out, and a graceful veil half hides the summit of the Aiguille du Midi, Chamonix Mont Blanc France.
There is something so romantic about this photo! I love how it turned out! The veil gives it a bit of mystery!

What is the drop of beautiful eyes caught in their beauty, the most surpsrising?
That the woman who lowers the eyes brings such a beautiful veil, and thus covers the beautiful gaze that the purpose of this, namely the concealment of the beauty of one's own being, is not attained in any way.....
Jan Hanlo 1912-1969 Dutch experimental poet.
In late October the winds blew in clouds over cougar ridge, to the west of the cabin. The sun had set behind the ridge and the clouds moved quickly. This long exposure photo shows their ominous character. Along the ridge the deciduous Larch trees (Tamarack) mixed in with evergreens had been a beautiful gold for a month but now were starting to shed showers of golden pine needles. Winter is coming soon...as much as I hate to leave it is time to take myself to another home.
