A friend had notified me of a former LMS Dash-8 in charge of the V-BLUKCK, a rare happening on the Chilli Sub. I made the trek to the small town of Dahinda, Illinois and shot the unit as it blasted across the Spoon River Bridge headed west for it's crew change point of Galesburg.

Captured this vehicle in the village of Southwick, Hampshire at a 1940's revival weekend a couple of months ago. Not sure of the make - I think it is a Fordson, but I am willing to be corrected. As I didn't know thought it was easier to title it Outside Number 12!

There are a number of changes from the Series I, but the most obvious are the lights. The aerodynamicaly covered lights of the Series I were illegal in the US between 1940 and 1983; so they had to change in order for the E-type to enter the US market.

614 016/614 015, welcher als RB von Buchholz nach Bennemühlen unterwegs war, traf im Bahnhof der Heideblütenstadt Schneverdingen auf 628 517, welcher gerade als RB aus Soltau einfuhr und rund 30 Minuten später als Taktverstärker dorthin zurück verkehrte..
Die Baureihe 628 löste rund sieben Monate später (im Dezember 2008) die letzten Braunschweiger 614er ab. Für drei Jahre wurde der Gesamtverkehr im Heidekreuz durch die Triebzüge der Baureihe 628 bedient, bevor der Erixx den Personenverkehr in der Lüneburger Heide übernahm.
