Adam Opel AG (Opel) is a German automobile manufacturer headquartered in Rüsselsheim, Hesse, Germany, and a subsidiary of General Motors Company. The company designs, engineers, manufactures and distributes Opel-branded passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles and vehicle parts for distribution in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. Opel designed and manufactured vehicles are also sold under the Buick brand in the United States, Canada, Mexico and China, the Holden brand in Australia and New Zealand and the Vauxhall brand in the United Kingdom.
Opel traces its roots to a sewing machine manufacturer founded by Adam Opel in 1862. The company began manufacturing bicycles in 1886 and produced its first automobile in 1899.
Opel became a share-limited company (German: Aktiengesellschaft) in 1929; United States-based General Motors took a majority stake in Opel that same year. General Motors assumed full control in 1931 and today Adam Opel AG is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Company. Although Adam Opel AG continues to be a share-limited company, shares of the company are not publicly listed. Adam Opel AG is the parent company of General Motors UK Limited, better known as Vauxhall, and various other General Motors subsidiaries.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Opel and Vauxhall ranges were rationalised into one consistent range across Europe.

Former WMPTE Bristol VR 4413 (NOB413M) survives today, not so much by design, but because the vehicle was long lived as a service bus, out living most of it contemporaries.
After withdrawal by WMPTE in March 1981, 4413 was placed into storage with others of the type. These buses were suffering structural issues around the front ends where the body joined the chassis. The MCW built bodies that were used on the WMPTE VRTs, were designed for use on Fleetlines and had to be modified to fit the VR chassis; it certainly wasn't a marriage made in heaven. Unlike the Fleetline VR had a large front mounted radiator, and much body strength was lost in the front end to accommodate it. The result was that the front ends of these buses became loose and very rattly as body movement became more apparent.
It was clear at the time that the PTE did not want it widely known that they were actively withdrawing buses that were only seven years old, so placed them into storage at warehouse in Tipton until a decision was made as to what to do with them. Eventually, the PTE decided to sell what they could for further use, whilst others would be rebuilt and put back into traffic. However, those beyond commercial repair were cannibalised and sold for scrap.
National Welsh took advantage of the offer of these buses and bought several in early 1983. Many of the National Welsh examples were stationed at Bridgend in South Wales and were used on stage carriage work. 4413 was initially numbered HR7448 by NW, and later re-numbered as XR1970. ...Maybe someone could shed some light on this renumbering?
NOB413M remained in service with NW until 1988, when it was sold to Welsh independent Clynnog & Trefor of Trefor, Caernarfon who operated the bus for about 12 months on school contract work.
No longer required by its third owner, you would have expected the next buyer to have been a breaker's yard, but instead 4413 was sold to Lewis of Carreglefn, Anglesey for continued use as a school bus. Painted into Lewis's pale blue and cream colours, 4413 remained in service until January 1992, when it was sold into preservation.
Negotiations to buy the former North Division bus for preservation had begun towards the end of 1989, and a deal was reached on a visit to the operator in October 1991. Lewis had originally intended to keep the bus in traffic until March 1992, but sold it to the preservation group two month early. Since then the vehicle has had several owners, the current owner being Mr Kevin Hill, who has done much work to bring this bus back to its former 1974/5 condition as WMPTE 4413.
The picture shows the bus with Lewis on 23rd October 1991, when the deal was struck to save it.

Unexpected to the operators, it was decided to cease rail operations on the US Air Force's Shaw Base.
After 66 years, this would be the final train to run to the interchange. Black flags were placed on the locomotives, and the departure occurred around 1:30 p.m. Several from the Air Force joined in on the run, or took photographs at grade crossings. By 2:00 p.m., both 80Tonners had shoved the train to the CSX interchange, and returned to Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC.
Beginning to run-around, Cane Savannah, SC.
Weird beach vehicle at a low angle with bokeh beach and people, strikes me as cliche.
Sorry I have not been as vocal as usual. Have some kind of head cold that's left me feeling positively crappy with intermittent periods of just alrightness. =P Oh, did I mention the puffy eye? Meh...Of course now that it's the weekend I feel like I could use a doctor, but her office is closed until Monday, so I guess I'll have to deal.

The Infanterikanonvagn 91 (IKV 91) is a high mobility vehicle designed for infantry support, although it has also been called both a tank destroyer and a light tank. Designed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, it entered service in the late 1970s.
As previously mentioned, the IKV 91 is highly mobile, designed to easily deal with the rough terrain and snow of the Nordic region dye to the low ground pressure. Furthermore, the vehicle is fully amphibious. With an operational range is 500 kilometers and the capability to reach speed of 70/km, the IKV 91 can get to where it's needed. To help to simplify maintenance, it shares many common components with the PBV 302.
The vehicle's hull is made of welded steel, and while relatively thin, due to the excellent frontal sloping and pike nose it is immune to weaponry up to 25mm autocannon fire.
The IKB 91's primary armament is a stabilized 90mm rifled gun able to fire both HEAT and HE rounds. The gun has similar accuracy and velocity as a L7 105mm gun. When combined with the low profile and 10° of depression, the IKV 91 makes for a formidable ambush predator that can destroy all but the most armored MBTs. Secondary armament includes two machine guns and smoke grenade launchers.
Infanterikanonvagn 91:
Gun: 90mm -1
Armor: 30mm +0
Speed: 70 km/h -1
Low Maintenance +1
Amphibious +1
Advanced Optics +1
Burns Easily -1

When I was a kid with this wild vivid imagination, I always imagined that the clouds would be this sort of vehicle in which we could all travel in. We would all sit on it like a one big fluffy mattress then off we go to adventure land or someplace awesome. With that sort of idea in mind, I wanted to portray something like a vehicle as well, but more in a spiritual sense.
Majority of people believe in life after death; a heaven and hell if you will. There is always this sort of passage when a person goes to heaven. Most would think a beam of light would shine down at your soul and just bring you up like an elevator. This composite is sort of like that, but I wanted to re-imagine it as more of a cloud being the vehicle that would carry you towards heaven.

Wiesmann GmbH is a German automobile manufacturer based in Dülmen, Germany. The company was founded in 1985 by two brothers, engineer Martin Wiesmann and businessman Friedhelm Wiesmann. The cars are manufactured by hand inDülmen. The Wiesmann logo portrays a gecko, as they claim their cars "stick to the road like geckos to a wall".
The company originally manufactured custom hard-tops for convertibles, which they continue to do. The first roadster left the workshop in 1993. As of 2006, they produce the Wiesmann MF 3 and MF 30 roadsters and the Wiesmann GT MF 4 coupé, all of which utilize engine and transmission components supplied by BMW.
Wiesmann had plans to begin exporting vehicles to the USA by 2010, but recent reports indicate that Wiesmann has no immediate plans to sell vehicles in the United States because of exchange rates and the high costs of modifying and testing the cars in order to make them road-legal there. On August 14, 2013 Wiesmann filed for insolvency at the local court in Münster.
The GT MF5 is a closed two-seater & two-seater roadster with more power than the other models. The GT MF5 roadster, first produced in 2009, will be limited to just 55 examples. GTspirit gave the GT MF5 Roadster a positive review during their road-test in September 2010.

The Maserati Boomerang was a concept car designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. It was first revealed at the Turin Auto Show in 1971 as a non-functional model, but by the time the 1972 Geneva Auto Show came around the company had worked it into a fully functional vehicle.
The design of the Boomerang would resonate through Giugiaro's future designs for many years. Its sharp angles and wedge shape could be easily seen in the VW Golf 1, VW Passat, Lancia Delta, Maserati Quattroporte III, Lotus Esprit, and the De Lorean DMC-12. Powered by a 310 bhp (230 kW) 4.7L V8 enginedriving the rear wheels, 5 speed manual transmission, and having a fully decked out interior. With a unique dashboard layout where the steering wheel and gauge cluster are part of a single console that emerges from the dash, and the steering wheel rotates around the stationary gauges.
The Boomerang was fully registered as a road car, but it was always intended as a one-off show car. It was shown in dozens of places, and after the 1974 auto show in Barcelona it was sold to a private individual.

Weight : 45 t GLW / 14 t Tare.
Number : 110691.

ADDITIONAL NOTES.
British Rail built 800 of these standard goods open wagons to eliminate unfitted and vacuum braked vehicles in the late 1970's and early 80's. A prototype was converted in 1974 from an earlier series of 31 ton open wagons built at Ashford in 1971 to lot no.3727. That vehicle became 110000 and TOPS code OBA converted from OAA no.100043.
The main production build was in two lots the first being of 500 vehicles to lot no.3909 built 1977-79 by BREL Ashford Works and numbered 110001 to 110500. The second batch of 300 vehicles was built 1978-79 by BREL Shildon Works to lot no.3930 and numbered 110501 to 110800.
Both groups have seen numerous conversions for other uses. The main ones being OTA timber wagons with side doors removed and full height ends with side stanchions, RRA runner wagons with bodywork removed. and ZVA as bogie carriers with side doors and ends removed. The BR Engineers department took a large proportion of the fleet in the latter years of BR after the demise of the Speedlink wagon load network with RRA's becoming ZEA runner wagons and OBA's becoming ZDA 'Bass' wagons for track materials.
The wagon seen here has its raiseable stanchions in place and as can be seen is carrying hardwood logs.
