Saludos a Luis.

The approximate 195 tons trailing load of six Mark I vehicles plus the 109 tons of the locomotive is obviously on this occasion to much for the 1470 bhp available to 31421 to get it up the Lickey bank as it has picked up the two class 37 bankers to give it a shove up the hill. The class 31, 2x class 37 combination is seen here as they start to accelerate away from the standing start as they approach Bromsgrove station and the start of the bank, 14th April 1979.
Locomotive History
31421 was originally D5558 and was built in 1959. The class were built with even less powerful Mirrlees JVS12T 1250bhp engines but the engines were not successful and in 1964 a programme of works commenced to re-engine the fleet with the more powerful 1470bhp English Electric 12SVT engine. Under the 1973 TOPS renumbering scheme D5558 became 31140. During the 1970’s a number of class 31’s were fitted with electric train heating equipment for both secondary passenger duties and empty coaching stock duties between carriage depots and stations. 31140 was fitted with electric train heating and dual braking equipment during a classified repair at Doncaster works in the autumn of 1974. It was released into traffic in November 1974, renumbered 31421 and allocated to Cricklewood for empty coaching stock duties between Cricklewood and St Pancras. Despite being somewhat underpowered it would give thirty eight years service and would remain in traffic until withdrawn in March 1997. Following withdrawal it was stored in Crewe South Yard for a number of years until moved to Carnforth in January 2003. This was followed in September 2003 with a move to the Midland Railway Centre at Swanwick. However preservation passed it by and in April 2007 it was transported by road to EMR Kingsbury and broken up in August 2007.

Záhony in the North East corner of Hungary is the border station for the line to Čop (Chop) in the Ukraine. Between the two towns either side of the Tisza River the line is of mixed gauge (1435/1524mm) allowing traffic in both directions although at this location only freight used both gauges running to trans shipment yards on either side of the border. The passenger service tended to be standard gauge only with passengers changing trains in Čop or on long distance workings the coaches changed bogies in Čop.
On the standard gauge (1435mm) tracks in Záhony station are two MÁV passenger workings, one diesel one electric.
On the left M41-2132 has just arrived with train 6354 the 12.15 from Mátészalka. While on the right staff gather in front of V43-1086 waiting to form train 6243 the 14.00 to Nyíregyháza. At the time 23 years ago photography at locations like this could often attract unwanted official attention hence probably the reason the railway staff are staring. It was usually a case of take a couple of shots and return the camera to the bag and disappear. The Ukraine had only gained independence from the Soviet Union 17 months earlier but little had changed when it came to border regions like here so still plenty of barbed wire, watch towers and no mans land to look cross.
The DARKWATER "Air Shark" Gunship is the PMC´s smallest aircraft to have a full armament for anti aircraft and anti personel combat. It is a three engined VTOL using a thruster design developed by the US Airforce which was originally intended for unmanned drones. The crew of the "Air Shark" consists out of one Pilot and two gunners sitting at the sides of the vehicle. These can for example provide Sniper support.
Inspired by the ISA Intruder, my own Scorpion Gunship creation and the now a days Little Bird helicopter. It also has certain similarities with the Type 4 Doragon in BF2142.
Messed around with most of my ODG models changing bits of tech around..added the new BA M2HB and i think it fits great! Always good when you can have a steering wheel..if you can..im very lucky to drive past an M3/M2/DUKW most mornings..all fully restored so the M3 has always been a fav WW2 vehicle. feel free to add me to pics..i know some don t like it..but i don t mind..will help where i can..but don t ask for breakdowns of my work during that..please remember that i may still miss work as i don t have the amount of time i had before on flickr.

Currently not on the electronic vehicle database, meaning this car still has paper records. This pristine Prisma is usually parked next to an equally nice Delta, but that was nowhere to be seen this time round. For something that seems to spend all of its time parked down a very busy road, it looks superbly well looked after.
*Edit* I'm not quite sure of the age of this one on second glance, perhaps a pre 1986 model given the older wheels?

Found this wild motorhome at the flea market today, now this is creative thinking :-) Wonder what my neighbors would think if we came home in this!
Go North East's Deptford-based Optare Solo SR M925/Optare 9104 (YJ65 ELW), which carries a plain white base livery, is pictured here at Go North East's Saltmeadows Road Depot, following delivery to the company. 24/02/16
It is believed that Go North East has ordered five new 'Solo SR' vehicles from Optare, to be deployed on Hexham's "Tynedale Links" network of services. As a consequence; some of the Transbus MPD/Transbus Mini Pointer vehicles currently allocated are due to be withdrawn.
To support the product launch of the five new buses at Hexham, Optare has therefore supplied Go North East one of its demonstration models, allocated fleet number 9104. This vehicle was originally expected to be allocated to Deptford Depot, to provide an additional minibus which meets Euro 5 contractual requirements for services at this depot.
However; without seeing use at Deptford, it has now transferred to Hexham Depot, to be used alongside existing loans Optare Solo M780/Optare 9105 (YJ61 JHV) and Optare Solo M880/Optare 9106 (YJ10 EZB) at this depot.
The joint oldest car in the Roads Policing Unit. This car has relatively low miles at just 68k, having spent most of its life on the South RPU team, until we merged to a single base.
