The Church of Santos Passos, also known as Church of Our Lady of Consolation, was built by the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Consolation and Santos Passos to the architect Andrés Soares at the beginning of the 18th century.
The Church, located in Guimarães, was built in the same place where a small chapel existed since the 16th century.
The imposing temple is topped by two towers added in the middle of the century. XIX, by an architect from Oporto. The staircase and the balustrade are also from that time.
The altarpiece of the chancel is of classical inspiration from the end of the 19th century. XVIII, with painting to imitate the marble.

Sponza is one of the most beautiful palaces in Dubrovnik, built in 1522 in a mixture of Gothic and Renaissance styles. Its name is derived from the Latin word "spongia", the spot where rainwater was collected, according to the former use of the spot the palace was built on.
The Sponza Palace has served a variety of public functions in the time of the Dubrovnik Republic, including as a customs office and bonded warehouse, mint, armoury, treasury, bank and school. The palace's atrium served as a trading center and the inscription on one of its arches testifies to that public function:
Fallere nostra vetant et falli pondera. Meque pondero cum merces ponderat ipse deus. ("Our weights do not permit cheating. When I measure goods, God measures with me.")
The palace survived the devastating earthquake of 1667 without damage and this fact probably saved the Dubrovnik Republic. Affairs of the state could continue notwithstanding heavy destruction.
The Sponza Palace became the cultural center of the Republic with the establishment of the Academia dei Concordi, a literary academy, in the 16th century, which was Dubrovnik's first institution of literary life.
Today, the Sponza Palace is the home of the most important cultural institution of Dubrovnik - the archive.
It also has a unique role during the special opening ceremony of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Actors impersonating the Rector and the members of the Council Minor sit on the upper porch of the Sponza Palace and greet the actors who have come to the City to entertain and amuse the public with their music shows and theater plays. After many skill demonstrations by the actors and a long discussion from the side of the council, the ceremony always ends as the Rector grants the actors free access to the City and gives them the keys of the City in order for them to put up their shows and entertain the public.
Not a great photo but I wanted to share.
This is under the west abutment of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. I'm very pleased to have had a tour courtesy of @igersbristol and @brunelsbridge. Thanks guys!
I've gone with the ladder shot for scale.
The fact that the abutments are hollow wasn't discovered until 2002, 200 years after they were built. The bridge people are working on making this safe for group tours for those of you interested. But I am well chuffed with having been among the first hundred people ever to have been in here!
