Parvindela terricola cinctipennis
This brown beetle (with green clear coat), the same individual as the 2 photos of the brown beetle, appeared to have lost the ability to fly. That meant a lot of chasing on my knees and when eventually cornered - facing me with bared teeth.
Field around the variable star R Monocerotis and the famous Hubble Variable Nebula (small in white). Surrounded by the Monocerotis I molecular complex, formed by emission, dark and reflection nebulae.
Almost in the center, NGC 2264 with the famous Cone Nebula and Fox Fur. The entire region is in the middle of the Milky Way and is home to ongoing star formation with several hot young stars in the Mon OB1 association. Around the Cone alone, there are dozens of YSO and T Tauri variables.
The blue reflection nebula envelops the open cluster Collinder 95.
The image is a mosaic obtained by placing two panels side by side shot in tandem with 300mm. Processed with Luminar 4, exclusively for color and contrast tuning and control.

Brown morphs are also present in this population although they are out numbered by the green versions.

Endemic and common in coastal habitats around the North and South Island and is much heavier than the South Island Pied Oystercatcher. The cool thing about this Oystercatcher is he will stand is ground and is not afraid to chase you away.
This is a male Variable Damselfly Coenagrion pulchellum
Unusually the antehumerals are not broken into an exclamation mark, but it has the Coenagrion spur for the Genus and the batman mark on S9
We just arrived at the Isunga Lodge. A lovely mountain toop roof lodge with magnificent views of the valley below us. Without a moment to rest a few sunbirds ( males and females ) started to flew through all the flowers on the garden.
They are like little jet planes very difficult to take on photo on the wild. Here in the garden they are more used to guests and they sometimes rest for a while. Still had to take a few to get a nice one.
Variable Oysterling fungus, Crepidotus variabilis. It's barely 10mm across and so delicate it seemed a breath of wind would tear it apart. 5 November 2019. Perivale Wood Local Nature Reserve, Ealing, London, England, UK.
