In homage to a recent Annie Leibowitz photograph.
This is the photograph of famed photographer, Stevo Humpleby, published on Flickr, which threatened to ruin Humpleby's career as a wholesome photographer of flowers, birds and star trails. Fans were astounded that Humpleby would pose so provocatively, with that "freshly humped" (pardon the pun) expression on his face.
"I was utterly shocked," said Madam Ethel Walleston, 84, of Boronia Downs. "Who would have thought that that nice man could... could..." Unfortunately, Mrs Walleston took a turn for the worse and was unable to finish that sentence.
Humpleby was unable for comment, though his agent, Mr Graham Minchin told the press: "Stevo was informed that the photo shoot would be artistic. He had little knowledge that the picture could have led to such a reaction from his legion of fans. Fans should be rest assured that Stevo will continue taking wholesome photographs."
The photographer of this scandalous and salacious image has gone into hiding.

Continuing the literary connections of the Bingham Riverhouse Hotel in Richmond upon Thames... here, on the wall of the dining room, is a striking portrait of Dorothy Parker (1893-1967), the renowned American poet, critic and satirical writer.
She became a legendary literary figure, known for her biting wit. She worked on magazines such as Vogue and Vanity Fair and was a book reviewer for The New Yorker in the 1920s ("This is not a novel to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force.") Another of her aphorisms I like was “If you want to know what God thinks of money, just look at the people he gave it to”.
The portrait is by Kate Boxer, a painter and printmaker who was born in Sussex in 1961 and has exhibited in galleries and at art fairs since 1994.

It was a long night. Since my spouse was spending the night way up North in Little Rock, I decided to get some work done at the studio. When I awoke this morning, my Vanity Fair book was by the sofa, the bar was ransacked, and there was an unabiding funk wafting throughout the studio.
