trip to Suriname with shots from Paramaribo, the capital, and in the jungle at Kabalebo Nature Resort on the kabalebo river - an hour plane ride from the capital. some wildlife, some jungle walks, some fishing boats, some history, some colonial buildings. nice country. good time.

Another triptych wood carving from Oaxaca. The paint detailing and the carving are really nice on these pieces. In some of the woodcarving villages we visited the craft was generational and had been in the family with distinct techniques and pigments handed down from parent to child and child to their children.

I wanted to depict a Desmodus Rotundus bat, known as Vampire Bat, with a stylized look.
The base model was done with Maya, the sculpting with Mudbox, the texturing with Photoshop and ZBrush, the seams fixing with Bodypaint.
Lighting and rendering in Softimage XSI and compositing in Photoshop.
I hope you like it.
