Would have been lovely to have breakfast outside, but we weren't organised and we had a superb kitchen diner.
It was a good place to groom Skippy though - you can see his jacket out to dry on one of the rocking chair.
Early to mid May is my favorite time to be in Yosemite Valley. I can't wait for my workshop here May 7-12!
I'm post-processing this May 2011 photo for the first time, using three exposures post-processed in PhotomatixPro v6 beta.
Just as the sun sets, NS379 catches the last sliver of gold rounding the bend at mile post 142.

I usually try not to post mutiple photos of the same thing but on recent visit to Yosemite the changing conditions throughout the day were so dramatic but for different reasons every time of day at valley view you can get a great shot. So here are 3 photos from different times of day to show what a magic place this really is.
One more shot from the recent Yosemite trip. I did not get any outstanding shots, but I need to feel like the hours in the freezing cold was worth it.

U-Tote-m Groceries on Cerritos Avenue near Valley View Street. I remember seeing this when it existed, but can't place it exactly anymore.
Update: Greg Bishop’s comment inspired me to delve further. I believe that this strip mall was at about 5959 W. Cerritos in Cypress.
A forlorn window in an abandoned building in Valley View, TX reminds us that gravity is one of the immutable laws of the universe.
Many years ago the State of New York bought this property & maintained the property but not what was the most iconic barn at the intersection that EVERYONE drives by on their way through the high peaks region of the Adirondacks. Unfortunately, the barn received no care. In 2016 they tore the barn down due to the right side of the roof collapsing after a heavy spring snow.
