Barely avoiding disaster, 68007 'Valiant' appears from just about the only cloud that blotted the sun in the 30 minutes I spent in the Lune Gorge! The train is 4S44 Daventry - Coatbridge. The best looking 68 in the fleet is rumoured to be losing it's unique all over blue livery, so get it while you can.

The Generation 1 Plymouth Barracuda was offered 1964-66. It was based heavily on the compact Plymouth Valiant.

Though not visible in this photo, there was a 'V8' emblem on the front fender.

Shawbury 1961. The Valiant was the first of Britain's 4-engined V-Bomber force. Unfortunately, due to fatigue problems, the type was withdrawn from service in 1965. The only surviving aircraft is on display at Cosford. This particular aircraft was the only one that I ever saw at an airshow.

A valiant attempt! I liked this pose even though it wasn’t the one I hoped to get. After this she decided to rush in to the bag & straight out again - so fast that my photo only showed blurred fur. Bella needs to practise her technique for playing with bags & I need to practise taking action shots! Happy Caturday.

The 1961 Plymouth Valiant. With automatic transmission, which was a big deal in those days. Seen here in a Montreal street in 2013. Somebody owns this in Montreal. I had the same colour in Australia.

If I were a billionaire like Elon Musk, I'd launch into the production of 1961 Valiant replicas with a few modern touches, like disc brakes and fuel injection.

From Wikipedia: "In May 1957, Chrysler president Lester Lum "Tex" Colbert established a committee to develop a competitor in the burgeoning compact car market which included the popular VW Beetle, the new American Motors Rambler and upcoming entries from GM, Ford and Studebaker. Design chief Virgil Exner created a car that was smaller and lighter than a full-size car without sacrificing passenger and luggage space."
