Savons-nous bien ce que nous fêtons ce jour de l'amour en le considérant plus particulièrement ce GRAND SENTIMENT, au point de lui avoir réservé une date spéciale au calendrier romain !
Justement.
Valentin, dit en latin "Valentinus" s'entend comme "valorem tenens" "qui maintient sa valeur". (Légende Dorée).
Selon la Tradition de la même Légende dorée ou vies des saints, l'Empereur Claude qui régnait à cette époque -vers 270- fait comparaître Valentin, alors prêtre de grande réputation et très aimant, lui demandant d'adorer les Dieux de Rome.
Valentin, au contraire, affirme sa foi et proclame vigoureusement sa croyance en ce Christ dont il dit qu'Il est la lumière.
L'Empereur s'en étonne.
Il ajoute que si ce Christ redonnait la lumière à sa fille aveugle, il se convertirait.
Valentin prie et redonne la lumière à la jeune-fille.
Toute la maison se convertit.
Le culte de Valentin est discret.
C'est la fête qui fait mieux connaître le saint-homme par transmission.
Il est le patron des amoureux.
Actuellement, ce jour est célèbre. Presque tous le fêtent.
On peut échanger de bons sentiments, entre amoureux bien-sûr, déclarer sa flamme, offrir un petit présent, voir un GRAND si l'amour est à proportion et pour toujours, un diamant qui sait en se fiançant CE JOUR -là, pour se marier à la Saint Joseph le 19 mars qui suit.
L'échange de bons voeux de coeurs qui aiment peut s'étendre aux amis, à la famille,à nos enfants inversement, car l'amour est universel, il fait palpiter tous les coeurs sincères qui adorent par conséquent fêter l'AMOUR.
On dit que le 14 février coïncide avec les débuts de la nidification des oiseaux et leur premier appariement.
C'est trop beau non !
Saint Valentin protège les oiseaux, ainsi que tous ceux qui ont le coeur amoureux.
SAINT VALENTIN est aussi thaumaturge (saint guérisseur).
Il est invoqué pour les épileptiques.
Il soulage les maux de ventre.
Les fiancés peuvent se mettre sous sa protection.
Belle fête à tous ceux qui s'aiment en coeur, aux couples, époux....

Con la llegada de San Valentín uno siempre se pone un poco romático, y yo no soy una excepción.

Sorry if I ear-wormed you with the title, but it really is accurate. Even though he doesn't understand the proper ways to show his love, his heart is in the right place. Even if he tends to show it with a screaming punch sandwich sometimes... There was quite a few great shots from this show but I kept coming back to this. Happy Valentine's day everyone!

Barbara Valentin was born Ursula ‘Uschi’ Ledersteger in Vienna. She was the daughter of the set designer Hans Ledersteger and actress Irmgard Alberti. Her film debut was in the erotic SF-thriller Ein Toter hing im Netz (1959, Fritz Böttgers). In the 1960’s she became a well known personality who was called ‘das Busenwunder’ because of her huge breasts. The German tabloids had plenty to write about her cocaine habit and other addictions, and also about her numerous love affairs. Her three marriages, including one with film director Helmut Dietl, ended all in a divorce. In the cinema she was seen in sex pot roles in films like Das Mädchen mit den Schmalen Hüften, literally The Girl with the Narrow Hips (1961, Johannes Kai), and In Frankfurt sind die Nächte heiss / Hot Nights in Frankfurt (1966, Rolf Olsen). Later she was also seen in international films like Carmen, Baby (1967, Radley Metzger) and King, Queen, Knave (1972, Jerzy Skolimowsky).
In the 1970’s Rainer Werner Fassbinder offered Barbara Valentin a chance on a new career. Under his direction she played in the futuristic tv tale Welt am Draht (1974) and after that she became a permanent member of his troupe. She played character parts in films and tv films by Fassbinder like the Henrik Ibsen adaptation Nora Helmer (1974), the touching melodrama Angst essen Seele auf (1974), Martha (1974), the Theodor Fontane adaptation Effi Briest (1974), the controversial gay drama Faustrecht der Freiheit / Fox and his Friends (1975), the box office hit Lili Marleen (1981) and Fassbinder's acclaimed 15-hour tv mini-series Berlin Alexanderplatz (1980). She also appeared in numerous other films and tv productions, including Bomber und Paganini (1976, Nicos Perakis), Flammende Herzen (1978, Walter Bockmayer, Rolf Bührmann) and Dorian Gray im Spiegel der Boulevardpresse (1984, Ulrike Ottinger). In 1984-1985, she lived together with Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, whom she would come to call the love of her life. After his death in 1991 she supported the fight of Hiv organizations against Aids, and became an icon of the Munich gay scene. Her last film was Die Hunde sind schuld (2001, Andreas Prochaska). Barbara Valentin died in 2002. She suffered a brain hemorrhage early in 2001, and was in a coma for quite some time, and was later confined to a wheelchair. She is buried in the Ostfriedhof cemetery in Munich.
