2009 Challenge, Day 70: Speed

In lieu of something moving with speed, I've tried to create an illusion of speed by using a zoom burst.

So I bought a new vacuum cleaner a few years back. It is one of those cool Dyson vortex ones. As I was unpacking the machine, I geeked out on how "futuristic" the design of the pieces were. So, I decided that before I used it I would take some shots of the pieces that I found most fascinating. I augmented the "futuristic" feel of the pieces a bit by adding some background of my screen saver. I also set some of the pieces on top of my lighted mousepad to add more color effects. In some shots I also used my air purifier which is a clear globe and matched up well with the design of the vacuum cleaner pieces. I also did a few overexposed shots as if the cylinder was glowing.

I can't see anything regarding Haywin outside of New Zealand and Australia where these were sold by Hays in both countries, so it maybe be a badge engineered job, hence "Hay" and "win". We decided to tackle the hall (/porch - never quite sure what to call this little room that the front door opens on to) today. I'm still absolutely exhausted though (my previous week of stress has triggered my CFS), so after helping Tim sand down all the woodwork, he ordered me to stop and he carried on and did all the painting himself. I love him!

I made myself useful by making coffee, but really didn't do much else - and still felt knackered. I did cook us a tasty dinner of salmon and stir fry though. Had a properly relaxing evening with a film - The Heat, with Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock. Silly but fun.

The Roomba has a "demo" mode with a pleasant female voice describing how the Roomba works. Wally came running when he heard it; here he's got his head tilted as he's trying to figure out the noise.
