I visited the VCU Special Collections in order to see their AdHouse Books exhibit. While there, I toured their department.
So, I;m in traffic the other day and this old pickup cuts around a GRTC bus in the wrong lane and looses it's load of Mostly watermelons on the street. A lot of people got out of he cars hand helped the man pick up what was left of his fruit. There was a dog helping too. It was like something out of a movie. I was thinking to myself, I wish I had my camera, and I did. It was right there on the passenger seat.. I was heading to Broad to take some pictures of the art school.

Rioters run from police as they advance up Laurel Street.
Despite an upsetting loss to Butler with a score of 70-62, Virginia Commonwealth University students and Richmond residents still decided to take to the streets to celebrate their home team getting father than they ever had before in NCAA March Madness. VCU Police, Richmond City Police, and Virginia State Police were all on hand to control the crowds. However, their over-aggressive tactics of using brute force, tear gas canisters, and mace pellets caused the crowd to escalate into a riot. Rioters destroyed property, started a fire, and even hurled rocks at the incoming riot police as they forced them down Broad and Laurel Streets.

I hope you can read the book's spines, this was before I got my new camera and I didn't have many options for capturing a clear shot then. I did my English 200 paper on Prostitution and was surprised to find and entire bookshelf in the library on the subject. I was amused by this set of Whore Biographies from the 1700's to 1825.

This man has been at several spots on campus, but most recently decided to take up proselytizing at the compass, outside the VCU Cabell Library.

Team ACP CEO & Founder Sylvester Clay will be at The Diamond ballpark in Richmond on May 3 for a reception held from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., just before the start of a much-anticipated baseball game between the VCU Rams and the #1 nationally ranked University of Virginia Cavaliers. The reception takes place inside The Diamond on the third base side picnic area.
“It should be a great game between these two teams,” Clay said. “I think if VCU basketball taught us anything, it’s don’t underestimate the passion of any the sports programs at this school. They’re only getting stronger.”
Minority-owned construction company Team ACP also continues to get stronger as it expands its client base throughout the area, from remodeling and renovation work at health care providers such as John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell, to more recent emergency contracting work performed for Wells Fargo Bank.

Shortly after the election results started to favor candidate Barack Obama, VCU students and other RVA residents paraded around Monroe Park Campus in celebration. Police had to shut down parts of West Broad Street, West Franklin Street, and North Belvidere Street.

The other week, I had my camera sent off to void the warranty and have it converted to infrared with a 590nm filter by Kolari Vision.
I've had it back for three days now, and this is the first day with no clouds. Please bear with me as I learn to tweak the colors and such. :-)
These photos are color swapped and infrared. I could improve them even more if I had my 50 or 60D convertated. ;-)

The first three floors have been poured on the VCU Building. The second floor is wrapped with a tarp, and preparations are being done on the fourth and fifth floors for concrete. (I won't be able to view floors six and seven).
