The Entrance to Valley of Fire. A composite of images turning day into night. This photo is not a realistic shot, but more a creation of how I envisioned the entrance at night. I used 2 shots one long exposure for the night sky and one for the foreground. Thanks for viewing.

Karimabad is one of the most famous towns in Gilgit-Baltistan. Located under the snow packed Ultar Mountain (7388 m) in Hunza valley, this town is awe-inspiring in scenery and tourist facilitation. The altitude of Karimabad is 2450 meters and it offers superb views to a number of mountain peaks and astronomical area of Hunza and Nagar.
The Hunza valley is affluent in fruit and crops engenderment. Wheat, barley, millet, beans and sundry vegetables are consequential crops while apple, apricot and pear are the major fruit of Hunza. Many of the world renowned mountaineers and guides belong to Hunza valley which reflects the involution of Hunza people in tourism of Pakistan.
A quick stroll down memory lane to 2019 and a trip to Valley of Fire. What's not to like about a desert that has mountains with snow on them I always say. Well, I've said it 10 times at least. Well maybe twice. Or would you believe once. But I've always thought it! Loved my trip here !
Happy Whateverday it is where you are :)

Before I attended the annual Grass Valley Fly-In and Open House last month held at Nevada County Airport I had never seen outside of Oshkosh Wisconsin of amateur-built aircraft or "homebuilts" because they are typically built in people's garages and basements. There were many many homebuilts at the open house, so I got to see them up close first-hand. This image is of a Hatz CB-1 that was on display at the airport that day. Technically the Wright Brothers 1903 Wright Flyer was a homebuilt & the Wright Brothers homebuilders because Orville and Wilbur didn’t depend on a factory to build their planes, successful and unsuccessful. So homebuilding has been a practice since the early days of American aviation and in 1953 the Experimental Amateur-Built Aircraft or EAA organization was born. While at an international Pathfinder Camporee in Oshkosh Wisconsin in 2005 my son, oldest daughter & I visited the EAA Museum there never imagining that 18 years later I’d meet some members in remote former gold rush town of Grass Valley California in Northern California. #developportdev @gothamtomato @developphotonewsletter @omsystem.cameras #excellent_america #omsystem @bheventspace @bhphoto @adorama @tamracphoto @tiffencompany #usaprimeshot #tamractales @mpbcom @kehcamera @visitgrassvalley @nevadacountyca #nevadacounty #nevadacountyairport #omd #olympus #microfourthirds #micro43 #micro43photography @visitcalifornia
I had expected a fine morning but didn't expect the mist. Otherwise I would have got out of the house even faster. But this was the almost weird sight as I headed over from Biddulph Moor towards Rudyard. Strangely beautiful.
I was in two minds to crop the foreground out. What do you think?

Monument Valley has been featured in many forms of media since the 1930s. Director John Ford used the location for a number of his best-known films, and thus, in the words of critic Keith Phipps, "its 13 square kilometers have defined what decades of moviegoers think of when they imagine the American West." Between 1945 and 1967, the southern extent of the Monument Upwarp was mined for uranium, which occurs in scattered areas of the Shinarump Conglomerate; vanadium and copper are associated with uranium in some deposits.
Only a few small openings remain along the overgrown fence row to allow a peek to the valley below. In the past the foreground hillside was clear grazing land for cattle; it is fast returning to woods as you can see by the trees framing the bottom edge of the view.
I found myself Looking through my now ancient (2006) photos from Monument Valley, and I couldn't resist doing some editing.

Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area covering nearly 46,000 acres (19,000 ha) located 16 miles (26 km) south of Overton, Nevada. The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park's attractions, often appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays.[5] It is Nevada's oldest state park, as commemorated with Nevada Historical Marker #150. It was designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1968.
Valley of Fire is located 50 miles (80 km) northeast of Las Vegas.

"The quintessential early bird, American Robins are common sights on lawns across North America, where you often see them tugging earthworms out of the ground. Robins are popular birds for their warm orange breast, cheery song, and early appearance at the end of winter. Though they’re familiar town and city birds, American Robins are at home in wilder areas, too, including mountain forests and Alaskan wilderness... An American Robin can produce three successful broods in one year. On average, though, only 40 percent of nests successfully produce young. Only 25 percent of those fledged young survive to November. From that point on, about half of the robins alive in any year will make it to the next. Despite the fact that a lucky robin can live to be 14 years old, the entire population turns over on average every six years."
