One of the most beautiful train rides in the world goes from Myrdal to Flam, Norway. Winding steeply down with views of cliffs, waterfalls and the valley and river below, the train passes through several long tunnels and has views out the windows at every bend. This shot was taken through the window of the moving train and shows one of the small towns along the river. We were fortunate to have sun that day. The next day it rained. Here's a link to the web site for the train ride.

One of my favourite haunts was to walk up into the Ochil hills and spend most of the day at certain locations just waiting for the right light. I would have my sandwiches and a flask of tea and I wouldn't call the Queen my auntie, I felt like I was on top of the world. I am sorry that I haven't been getting back to you recently my friends as my brother is ill also and I still am fighting ill health. I hope that things are ok with you and I love to look at your inspiring images.

Living Life

Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be Honest. Work Hard. Be Choosy. Say 'thank you', 'I love you', and "great job' to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental ~ search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself ~ Plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.

Yosemite National Park was for me, both a blessing and a curse. The blessing was the beauty of the mountains, valleys, rivers and sky. The curse…I’m not a landscape photography guy. In between every tree, rock and crevice I was looking for wildlife. It was by far the largest area that I had ever visited that was nearly void of wildlife. Even the park ranger that I asked for help in locating critters tried to get me excited about the whitetail deer that come out at dawn and dusk…I can see whitetail most days around our neighborhood.

Yosemite is just another reason to thank Abraham Lincoln for the blessing that he was as he had the insight to set aside the magnificent place way back in his day, laying the foundation for our National Parks System.

Lovely morning light in the Mournes

This image was taken in the Garrigal National Park - about 12 kilometres north of Sydney CBD. It is remarkable that Sydney has so many world class national parks so close,

Some very different processing used on this image as I'm exploring some new B&W techniques.

Brendan is a amateur photographer based in Sydney Australia who loves exploring and shooting sea/andscapes/nightscapes in different areas sometimes with good mates other times by himself to improve his skills. I'm always after followers so don't be afraid to follow me on my photographic adventures.

Early one morning, on one of my drives up to St. Mary's Peak, I was blessed to observe this sunrise image. Standing there above the Valley, I though how blessed I was, to enjoy the beauty of that moment and also capture it and preserve it for all eternity...

We are fortunate to have travelled in this amazing area many times. This barn caught my eye years ago but hard to make an interesting image of. On this very last day of 2024 we had good conditions so I gave it another go. Eglinton Valley in Fiordland National Park is impressive, carved out by glaciers thousands of years ago. Surrounded by steep rocky mountains covered in native beech forest. The flat floor of the valley is covered in golden tussock grass with a few farms in between.

We spent Thanksgiving Day driving through Monument Valley.

I've been wanting to visit Monument Valley since my first trip to the States in 1997, so I was happy that we were able to plan it into this trip. A truly beautiful place to visit. 21/09/2019.

A view down the Encombe Valley and just visible in the trees is Encombe House which was built in 1735. The present owner is a former Irish Guards officer, James Gaggero, who paid £20M in 2009 to become only the sixth owner of the house in 1100 years.

Valley of Fire State Park is a public recreation and nature preservation area covering nearly 46,000 acres located 16 miles south of Overton, Nevada. The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago.

Spent almost a week in one of my favorite places. The weather was perfect and the fall colors in the Zion Narrows were at their peak.

I have photographed this lone tree in different conditions several times, but the fog and frost make this my favorite. You would never know that there are miles of fields and marshes behind this tree with mountains in the distance, but I like the way the tree stands out against the fog.
