Dantes Peak, Death Valley, California, USA

Either extreme northern Arizona or extreme southern Utah is a valley containing sandstone monoliths. Formed by the eroding effects of wind and water , they provide a breath-taking view. One has to stand in awe of Mother Nature.

Coming down the Wards Pass with a glimpse into the valley and the Acheron River. I can see where the road will travel.

About 2 hours after the moon rise, the valley was filled with light. Clouds and fog started snaking around the valley. It was the most beautiful sight I have ever witnessed!

The Entrance to Valley of Fire. A composite of images turning day into night. This photo is not a realistic shot, but more a creation of how I envisioned the entrance at night. I used 2 shots one long exposure for the night sky and one for the foreground. Thanks for viewing.

Karimabad is one of the most famous towns in Gilgit-Baltistan. Located under the snow packed Ultar Mountain (7388 m) in Hunza valley, this town is awe-inspiring in scenery and tourist facilitation. The altitude of Karimabad is 2450 meters and it offers superb views to a number of mountain peaks and astronomical area of Hunza and Nagar.

The Hunza valley is affluent in fruit and crops engenderment. Wheat, barley, millet, beans and sundry vegetables are consequential crops while apple, apricot and pear are the major fruit of Hunza. Many of the world renowned mountaineers and guides belong to Hunza valley which reflects the involution of Hunza people in tourism of Pakistan.

This airmail beacon had an acetylene powered flashing light that helped pilots keep on course. It was built in the mid-1920's and operated until early 1930's.

The beacon is on the part of Buffalo Valley called "alkali lake" (USGS 7.5' topo "Buffalo Springs NE"). Except for the missing light, it looks like it could still be used.
