Valinor
-Kevin Michael Anderson-
There is a land, so great and fair
wrapped in secrets that none can dare,
But past the fog and mighty waves
grows things that forever stays.
Their lights gleam by through skies,
Their moon is where it rests and dies.
Concealed in mountains; A majestic sight,
from Taniquetil, and Ilmarin, of white and crisp Night!
There summer greens grow wildly
and a tune is wove so merrily
that fountains scream with delight and gloom
and flowers bloom from August through June!
Their the frost is mere sweet delight!
and warmth is a endless sensational flight!
Their towers and cities are built great;
And the Eldar whom live in them live an Undying Fate!
There the lights play as a musical,
high strung with life so ethical!
There a kingdom is wrought, in the West,
which are homes to Gods, their temporary 'Nest',
There the Valar live, in Valinor,
which contains the Elder Days, and all other Day's lore,
there, lies a heavenly world
that feels sent from Heaven hurled,
down to Earth, as a flash of Hope
in Valinor, where the Ends are smoke,
In Valinor, where the Garden sleeps,
in Valinor, where only Nienna weeps,
In Valinor, where the Dead rest,
In Valinor, where lies the Crest
of the designs of Illuvutar,
In Valinor, to the West, Afar...

Valinor
Breathe Forever In Valinor
When my journey comes to its end
All my thought and time spent
There will be one last journey
In secret the sea leads to eternity
I disembark upon a land hidden from sight
I see a barricade of mountains on guard
A place where all the fair creatures delight
Beyond these huge walls lies that land of heart
Opened are my eyes and my mind
Sanctuary of light and green entwined
The sun forever dwells in the airs
No more touch of foul and all is fair
The lands and the waters are undying
Birds in the airs of peace stay flying
The home to the Powers of the World
Absolute beauty to me was first unfurled

AMUN DUIN is a fictive Elven realm, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's incredibly beautiful saga Lord Of The Rings. It is situated in Middle Earth, more precisely in Lindon, the Elvish region between the Ered Luin (Blue Mountains) and Belegaer, the western sea. From its harbor ships embark into the West, to Aman (Quenya: "The blessed realm"), the continent where Valinor lies, the "Undying Lands" of the Elves.

With the cold November sun just touching its peak, this frozen mountain across the sea makes me think of the mighty Taniquetil of Valinor, the highest of the Pelori, and earthly residence of Manwë and Varda.

Guide us oh star
Lead us from this darkness
Shine brightly above all
For Elbreth
For Iluvatar
For the Quendi
Point us to the path
That leads to Valinor
Let the Maiar hold her soaring
So that we do not lose sight
The Way
The Light...

In silver-green
you stand alone inside my dreams
You silhouette before me
The place I long to be
Is Valinor...
You captured My Heart,
My Mind, My Spirit...
I see your shores,
Your glorious mountains,
Your place of Peace...
I am your Dawn...
It's Valinor...
I long to stand
eternally in your
endless stars
My Moon's
loving embrace
for in this world
You are
My Valinor...

The eagle pushed off a bit too hard and broke the dead branch off. The eagle didnt hit any more branches and flew off into the morning sun.
PS: This is my first time being seeing a bald eagle and these birds are huge!
Enter Valinor
The land of the two trees
One for the Sun
One for the Moon
A gift from Varda Elentari
For Quendi and those favored
A place to spend eternity
Or chose to fade as the others do...
Sounds like an easy choice...
Unless the one you love is not the same
Or chooses to fade
Then eternity is solitude...

The Dark Shelters (or Gray Ports) were the main port city of the Lindon kingdom. The city was located in the northeast of the Lune Gulf, at the mouth of the River Lhûn, and for centuries was the main departure port for the Elves wishing to abandon Middle-earth. The Bearers of the Rings departed from this port to the Kingdom of Valinor, thus marking the end of the Third Age and the beginning of the Fourth.

Long ago, in the time of Valinor, the Noldor people led by Fëanor were thirsty for revenge and adventure after Morgoth.
They decided to leave Valinor against the will of the Valar.
To do so, they had no choice but to take to the sea. They went to the port of Alqualondë, where the greatest navigators and shipbuilders had established their kingdom, the Teleri.
The Noldors begged them to lend them boats and food, which the Teleri refused.
Fëanor’s hatred and desire for revenge were too strong and he ordered the Teleri ships to be taken by force.
The fratricidal massacre of Alqualondë then began...
This is my third entry and my last for MELO. I'm not proud of myself but I ran out of time, and the motivation wasn't present. I hope you still like it as well !
Even if I'm qualified I don't know if I will continue MELO because I have a lot of other moc I want tobuild and MELO take me a lot of time.
Follow the Star a Celebration of the ending of the Season, the Magi followed a star to the Child, the Quendi followed a star to Valinor.
My entry for round 5 of the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics. My category was Valinor from The Silmarilion, and I chose to recreate the Kinslaying at Alqualondë. The build was loosely inspired by this image, particularly the landscaping. It took 7 days to complete, and weighs a whopping 26.2 pounds, making it my largest solo build to date! The build process proved to be very challenging at times, especially the water and mossy hillside. Initially I just was using trans clear 1x2 bricks for the water, but it was warping so much I had to add plates to connect it to the bottom layer of water, so that it would attach correctly.
Below is a summary of the Kinslaying at Alqualondë for those of you who are interested.
"The Kinslaying at Alqualondë was the first slaying of Elf by Elf, and was the act that banned the Ñoldor from returning to Aman, the lands of the West, for centuries. When Fëanor intended to leave Valinor, he needed ships to get to Middle-earth without great loss, but the Ñoldor possessed no ships, and Fëanor feared that any delay in their departure would cause the Ñoldor to reconsider. The Ñoldor, led by Fëanor and his sons, tried to persuade their friends, the Teleri of Alqualondë, to give him their ships. However, the Teleri would not help in any way against the will of the Valar, and in fact attempted to persuade their friends to reconsider and stay in Aman. Unwilling to take "no" for an answer, the Ñoldor started taking the ships and sailing them away. This angered the Teleri, and they threatened the Ñoldor with rocks and arrows, and they threw many of Fëanor's followers out of the ships and into the harbor. They also began to attempt to block the harbour; however, it is only slightly possible that the Teleri drew first blood. Then the Ñoldor drew swords, and the Teleri their bows, and there was a bitter fight that seemed evenly matched, if not even in favor of the Teleri, until the second Host of the Ñoldor, led by Fingon, arrived together with some of Fingolfin's people. Misunderstanding the situation, they assumed the Teleri had attacked the Ñoldor under orders of the Valar, and they joined the fight."
Plenty more pictures on brickbuilt.

"Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it... White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise." - Gandalf

[This was shot with the aid of my dear friend Laura's boyfriend, Aaron, wayyyy up in the hills at the top of a hike in New Zealand, on the north island. There were sheep and cows everywhere, and wind farms on the horizon. Beyond where the sun was dipping down and grazing the water, the south island could be seen, shrouded in cloud and the swift approaching evening dark. Witnessing this fantastic sight, it was easy to imagine elvish ships sailing off toward Valinor, never to be seen again.
We were on our way down when I glanced over and saw the light's brilliance on the water. I fumbled over in much less a graceful manner than this photo would make it appear, frightening off lambs and sheep in my clumsy wake. Just earlier, we'd spent a good few hours walking around and observing the lambs at play and the absolutely breathtaking view.]
Year 1 of the Second Age -
The War of Wrath had destroyed most of the elven realm of Beleriand at the end of the First Age. The surviving elves who chose to remain in Middle-Earth founded the port city of Mithlond, also known as the Grey Havens, in the realm of Lindon. It was a major port used frequently by the Númenoreans during the raging war against Sauron in the Second Age.
The Grey Havens was ruled by the Telerin Elf Círdan. He was a great mariner and shipwright who was born in the Years of the Trees and maintained the honor of being the first owner of Narya, one of the Three Elven Rings. Círdan served as lieutenant under Gil-Galad, the last High King of the Noldor, and fought at the Battle of Dagorlad.
The Grey Havens and Círdan remained relatively quiet but important during the Third Age and The War of the Ring. It was the port where the Ring-bearers: Gandalf, Elrond, Galadriel, Bilbo and Frodo set sail across the Grear Sea to Valinor.
Be sure to follow all the builders tagged, and stay tuned for the next episode by Barthezz Brick coming out on Wednesday! Finally we would like to thank Blaine's World for sponsoring our collaboration!
Thanks for viewing the first installment in the Second Age Collab!
