This baking dish, for whatever reason, caught my eye and I'm glad it did because it has the older "$" marking (T.M. Reg Pyrex, U.S. Pat Off). Here's a close up of the marking. I'm thinking this is from 1917.

Can anyone help me figure out what this logo is? I have found it on standard round manhole covers and rectangles in cities all over Japan. It is not NTT, but I can't think of what national entity would need so many manholes. The positive space looks like two Ts rolled together and the negative space makes an S. Any help would be appreciated.
