Arrived right on time... timed it out perfectly. Now directly in its path... A slow mover so this was going to be a photographic treat.. with a (ef 0) Nader to boot.
I thought this storm was totally outflow dominate and this proves to me now that Tornadoes CAN be produced on an outflow boundary. I was there for the shelf cloud as this cell was maturing... I got what I came for and then some!

So, I saw Tron Legacy the other day, and felt compelled to build something from it... the Light Cycle seemed like a good choice. It wasn't. This is probably the most illegal thing I've built this year, though I am proud to say it's completely purist - all parts used are 100% official! Now, you'll notice many stickers all over this sucker [particularly the "wheel" sections]; while the stickers [which are mostly these by the way] are critical for holding each set of two old-style wheels together, they're not the only thing holding the wheel sections to the middle section, I assure you! If I chose something more orthodox, the vehicle would have been too big. Stickers are slick.
The thing with this new, re-designed light cycle is that its scale is incredibly deceptive. They look pretty big when they're zooming around, but upon closer examination [thank goodness there's so much reference out there!] they're not that big at all.
Also, this is the first time I've built something using a minifigure as "part" of the vehicle... I usually look at minifigs as extra to be added later, but not with this build. Unfortunately, minifigure's legs do not bend like a humans, so he's not really sitting on the light cycle "perfectly"; I had to pose him how I thought might look best. I didn't want to create a whole new, brick-built pair of legs that have a knee for fear that they'd simply blend in with the vehicle itself and the viewer wouldn't be able to distinguish between the two.
Just a couple words about the picture from me; I hadn't seen the first one, so I can only comment on the second and not compare them. While much of the dialogue was just plain campy, it was a visually stunning sight. The first 30 seconds was really cool in 3-D [I'm talking about the Disney title scene and the main title scene.] And the music, by the incomparable Daft Punk, was perfect. In fact, as I was building this, I had it blasting. I highly recommend buying the soundtrack.
There are more pictures on MOCpages or Brickshelf once moderated.

Someone had put some persona posters up and I got angry, saying that the whole country were our users, not some neat persona. I ripped a hole in that piece of paper and stuck it in the window.

Prior to meeting up with the 1Z10 gang on 25 October 2018, I paid a visit to nearby Gilberdyke to try and get some shots of the last days of the area’s semaphore signals. This is Bellasize UWC on the Hull lines (looking in the up direction towards Selby) with a mixture of semaphores and both old and replacement colour lights. The gates are normally closed to road traffic.
The information architect Peter Morville claims that User Experience contains seven elements: findable, accessible, usable, desirable, useful, credible and valuable. He captures these values in a user experience honeycomb (Peter Morville's UX honeycomb). My diagram is based on this honeycomb by Peter Morville and illustrates six elements of User Experience.
These six elements are divided into an inner & outer circle. Desirable, credible, & valuable are more internal or intrinsic elements. Findable, Accessible, & Usable are more external or extrinsic.
Someone asked what the glowy ones look like in the dark. I couldn't get a good picture with all the lights off, but this is under a blacklight.
The top three chakram are trans-neon-green, which is why the center one is washed out--it's bright. The bottom three chakram are GitD, with the ones on the right and left slightly marbled with some metallic.
The bottom right pod gun is the only one that is true GitD. The other four are all various colors marbled with trans-neon-green, which isn't immediately obvious in visible light. The one on the right is trans-red and trans-neon-green, the two on the left are cobalt and trans-neon-green.
These vehicles were picking up a School group on Dover Seafront and this was a grab shot before the group boarded.

Yes I'm back again.
However due to my main computer on which I edit my work being struck down with a big bad virus, this picture and all the others I am uploading, were Unedited but have now been replaced with Edited versions. So enjoy and Thanks for your patience and understanding.
I do still hate everything about this shit that is new Flickr and always will, but an inability to find another outlet for my work that is as easy for me to use as the Old BETTER Flickr was, has forced me back to Flickr, even though it goes against everything I believe in.
I don't generally have an opinion on my own work, I prefer to leave that to other people and so based on the positive responses to my work from the various friends I had made on Flickr prior to the changes I have decided to upload some more of my work as an experiment and to see what happens.
So make the most of me before they delete my acount: www.flickr.com/photos/69558134@N05/?details=1, to stop me complaining!!
So! Imagine had this idea to build Rapture from Bioshock. At a CoWLUG meeting he showed me the part he had built (not shown), and I offered to help get it done in time for Brickworld.
After playing Bioshock (for the first time) for a few minutes to get a feel for the city, I worked on the ocean floor [while he worked on the ocean ceiling]. That's pretty much everything you see here, obviously. So, when you see Rapture at Brickworld, I did the sand! :D
Big daddy/little sister are Imagine's, though. Sorry they're not in focus. :(
I shop in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) most days and it’s been a few years since I posted photos of the desperation of drug users in the area.
I became numb to the situation years ago as I see scenes like this in large numbers on every DTES trip. Most of the people seen like this on the streets of the DTES will likely not die as the response of emergency services are called here dozens of times a day. On Monday I counted 11 emergency service vehicles attending drug users within a 2 block area.
More deaths occur by people alone at their place of abode. Since the province declared an emergency health condition in 2016, the problem has only gotten more disheartening.
The supply of more toxic drugs with more lethal consequences has become worse. There appears to be little headway made in curtailing the illegal supply.
The latest report from the BC Coroners Service suggested it's time to post again. Here are three.
1 of 3.
BC Coroners Service drug toxicity death update through June 2024:
At least 1,158 British Columbians have lost their lives to unregulated drug toxicity in the first half of 2024, according to preliminary data from the BC Coroners Service (BCCS).
The findings show there were 181 and 185 suspected unregulated drug deaths in May and June 2024, respectively. Though the number of deaths to date this year is lower than at the same mark over the previous three years, approximately six people are still dying each day because of unregulated toxic drugs.
“People are continuing to lose their loved ones in communities across B.C. at a tragic rate,” said John McNamee, acting chief coroner. “Even as the figures reflect a 9% decrease in the number of deaths reported to the coroners service during the first six months of this year from 2023, the number of lives lost is still significant.”
Nearly half of reported deaths in May and June were people between the ages of 30 and 49. While males account for 72% of deaths so far in 2024, the rate of deaths among females continues to rise and currently accounts for 28% of deaths in 2024.
More than one-fifth of the lives lost so far in 2024 have been in Vancouver (22%).
Fentanyl continues to be the driver of unregulated drug-toxicity deaths, detected in 82% of expedited toxicological tests conducted so far in 2024.
Unregulated drug toxicity remains the leading cause of death in British Columbia for those age 10 to 59, accounting for more deaths than homicides, suicides, accidents and natural diseases combined. Since the public-health emergency was declared in April 2016, more than 14,948 people have lost their lives to unregulated toxic drugs.

Modeling the black & gold "Gold 45 Revolver" Gold'N'Virtue swimsuits with the main equation to Moving Dimensions Theory on the swimsuits: dx4/dt=ic. Yes I have a Ph.D. in physics! :) You can read more about my research and Hero's Journey Physics here:
herosjourneyphysics.wordpress.com/ MDT PROOF#2: Einstein (1912 Man. on Rel.) and Minkowski wrote x4=ict. Ergo dx4/dt=ic--the foundational equation of all time and motion which is on all the shirts and swimsuits. Every photon that hits my Nikon D800e's sensor does it by surfing the fourth expanding dimension, which is moving at c relative to the three spatial dimensions, or dx4/dt=ic!
