DL’s PO74 job for Cresco is under way departing Scranton in a burst of snow flurries. This was always a shot I had wanted, since I had stayed at the former Lackawanna Station hotel.

Boondall Wetlands are situated in the northern Brisbane suburb of, well, Boondall and are part of the important wetlands of inner Moreton Bay. The Information Centre has been recently rebuilt and includes educational information about these wetlands and the importance to our environment. There are walking trails to a bird hide on Nundah Creek just opposite the marina on Cabbage Tree Creek at Shorncliffe and a bird hide. Mangrove Kingfishers are one of the more beautiful birds seen in the area.

This is a simple shot of some of the wetlands after king tides with some nice reflections.

The 1891 Warren Building at 903-907 Broadway on E20th St.It's across the street from the old Lord and Taylor store I shared. The buff-colored brick is lavished with terra-cotta and marble ornamentation above the second floor. The bottom two floors are made from marble. The land that it sits on was owned by the Goelet family who were wealthy landowners.Robert Goelet married a Harriet Warren who was the daughter of a prominent lawyer,George Henry Warren.Although the building was named after the Warren family,it was Harriet who actually was responsible for commissioning Sanford White to design the building.I like the pediment-capped windows on the fifth,a feature (the pediment) you would usually see placed over columns in Greek architecture.Around the cornices at the very top of the building, there are carved lion faces.Design Within Reach,a store selling high-end modern furniture,is on the ground floor.

I have wanted to take this shot for ages, but the lighting has never been that great, and there are usually Buses in the way, but yesterday the scene was perfect.

Last week, I talked about writing a piece about why we embrace the imperfections of film photography. And then I lost it. Well, I re-wrote it and turned it into my next post on Substack.

This is a shot a took in 2015 on Ilford Pan F+. My fixer crapped out and I didn't know it until I scanned the roll. So I fixed again and the problem dissolved itself in fresh fixer.

HDR of a recent sunset.

I saw the clouds doing some dynamic things, so I immediately raced to this location. Amazingly, the hail dents in my car (from storm chasing) didn't show up :)
