Then there is a switch attached to the hinge of the front cover, which is activated when you close then open the lid far enough. I still have not seen her in stores yet. And the new singing Belle doll is nowhere to be found, either in stores or online.

In particular, all the edges and corners are really stiff, so resist damage during shipping. My doll's box came in perfect shape, which I can't say for most of the doll boxes I order from the Disney Store. The box wasn't packed any better than usual (a few airbags on the bottom of the shipping carton), but the sturdiness of the doll's box made the difference. Also this box is much thicker (deeper) than previous singing doll boxes, and even LE doll boxes, so leaves lots of room to position the doll nicely. The new construction also means the boxed doll is bulkier and heavier than previous singing dolls, so may be more costly to ship.

The Pemberton and District Community Centre will be hosting an Unplug and Play event on Sunday, May 1 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm as a kickoff event to Screen Free Week.
The event is geared towards creating awareness for families on the importance of balancing technology use with time with family, creative pursuits, recreation and nature. Children today are increasingly connecting to technology and disconnecting from themselves, their close relationships, and nature. Parents are encouraged to participate.

The annual PowerPlex User Conference is packed wall-to-wall with value content. We spend a few days filling our heads with best practices, new ideas and more capabilities. So at the end of the day, we like to unplug our brains for a few hours and have some fun. We call it “PartyPlex”. It’s a chance to hang-out with all the Plex users and Plexians, engage in some friendly competition and raise money for one of our favorite charities.
This year’s PartyPlex took place at the new Dallara IndyCar Racing Experience in Speedway, Indiana. Attendees experienced the thrill of racing with laps in the cockpit of a street legal IndyCar, behind the wheel of racing simulator games and around the minicar track. There was plenty of good food, drink and music to go around.
This year’s focus charity was the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with joy. We think it’s a remarkable organization. We were delighted to raise more than $21,000 to support their efforts with the PartyPlex Silent Auction and games.

A couple two color 5x7 Riso printed illustrations created one night using Procreate. Color separated in Photoshop to spot channels and separations ganged-up on created in InDesign.

Hace os meses os hablamos de Glasshole.sh, un programa obra del artista Julian Oliver que detectaba la presencia de usuarios con Google Glass en una determinada red y les expulsaba de la misma. Ahora Julian vuelve a retomar su cruzada anti-Glass con un nuevo dispositivo: Cyborg Unplug.
A diferencia de lo que ocurría con el software que mencionamos anteriormente, Cyborg Unplug viene listo para usar: tan sólo hay que enchufarlo y el dispositivo se encarga de todo. Además, no sólo detecta Google Glass en las inmediaciones, sino que también puede localizar otros dispositivos de vigilancia como micrófonos inalámbricos, Dropcam, pequeños drones con cámaras y otros dispositivos típicamente utilizados para espiar a otros sin permiso.
Según explican los creadores de Cybor Unplug, éste detecta el tráfico inalámbrico generado por este tipo de gadgets y es capaz de identificar qué es cada uno. Posee dos modos de funcionamiento. Con el primero, ‘Territory Mode’, desconecta estos aparatos de la red a la que está conectada y que administra el usuario. El segundo, ‘All Out Mode’, es más controvertido: desconecta todos los dispositivos de cualquier red a la que estén conectada, independientemente de que sea la del usuario o no. Para este último caso, advierten que puede ser ilegal en algunos países.
No sólo desconecta las Google Glass y otros dispositivos de vigilancia de tu propia red, sino que las desconecta de cualquier otra e incluso del teléfono móvil si están conectadas a él
En cualquier caso, Cybor Unplug no significa que vayas a estar completamente a salvo de dispositivos espía, según recuerdan los propios responsables del proyecto. “Sólo evita que hagan streaming de lo que graban a Internet”, advierten. Así que si un micrófono incluye almacenamiento en local, el sistema no sirve de nada. Además, obviamente, es necesario que estén conectados a alguna red para que se pueda detectar su señal.
Está previsto que salgan a la venta dos modelos de Cybor Unplug, con precios estimados entre 50 y 100 dólares. Las funcionalidades de cada uno dependerán de su precio. Por ejemplo, el más barato podría no incluir las alarmas LED o de audio que sí implementará el modelo de gama alta. Hasta ofrecerán la posibilidad de añadirle un conector Bluetooth para que pueda actuar también sobre conexiones de este tipo. De momento, eso sí, habrá que esperar un poco ya que no hay fecha estimada de venta pero ya sabemos que lo lanzarán en la Unión Europea.

Students willingly unplug from their phones to spend time pursing stillness, quiet, connction, and a sense of place.
The Murphy family enjoys spending their summers outside camping as a way to "unplug" and discover new people and places.
