The Steamer Alpena is unloading at the Lafarge dock at 130th St. at 6:30 this morning as the lights and steam plume of the St. Mary Challenger are barely visable at the right.

Folks were in a hurry to get off the plane to make their connections, but after everyone unloaded we all had to board the same bus to get to the terminal. I was glad to not have a connection in this case.
The unloading terminal at the Pinnox Branch Esso sidings at Longport is simple, but effective. The wagons are simply emptied using a mechanical grab which scoops out the load and into a waiting tipper truck. The three wagons nearest the camera were already here and did not arrive from Crewe

This loading dock was used to unload junk. Everything from truck doors to a Mr. Coffee. I had peered through a hole in a door about 6 times before actually getting inside & seeing it for myself. This was one of my longest awaited explores.
The John J Boland is unloading Taconite which is destined for AM Steel. However, since the ship is too large for the river, it is unloaded here awaiting a smaller ship to take the product to its destination.

Canadian National Railway is going to replace the main switch where the two main track merge into one main track at Central Junction.
