Unity Lake State Park in Baker County Oregon
Got out for a little spring camp trip at Unity Lake State Park and a little time exploring the nearby towns of Unity and Herford. It's spring and still a little chilly at night but the camp cabins were cozy and warm.
The high desert landscape around Unity Lake and the state park offer unique experience for guests. The fragrant smell of juniper lingers in the air and the cool grass of the park is a nice contrast to the sagebrush of the surrounding landscape . The Burnt River fills the lake here behind the Unity Dam before continuing its path down the Burnt River Canyon to Herford, Durkee, and eventually the Snake River . Visitors use the park year round enjoying ice fishing in the winter and a variety of watersports and camping in the summer

Frank Lloyd Wright's Unity Temple, located on Lake Street in Oak Park, was built between 1905 and 1908. It is considered to be one of Wright's most "important" designs, and is currently home to Oak Park's Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Unity Temple was declared a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1971.
Unity Hall was constructed in 1887 at 3140 S. Indiana Ave. for the Lakeside Club, a Jewish social organization. It became the home of Cong. Oscar DePriest's Peoples Movement Club in 1917, Churches have occupied the building since the 1950s. It continued to deteriorate during the early 2010s, but has since been renovated into apartments.

Beefy and I have begun a weekly (weekend) project to document Sacramento’s murals (with my outfits in the foreground, of course). This mural, located at 10th and W Streets, depicts various religious figures. The “Unity” mural was painted by artist Irubiel Moreno, with the assistance of other artists. Personally, I call it “Serenity,” because the figures look so peaceful. It’s also referred to as “The Interfaith Rainbow.”
